I feel bad for Luke for the first time this year. He FINALLY set his rotations the way he wanted and boom, the trade happens. I think part of his frustration about having to adjust again came out last night with what was going on the court.

Even with all that, Lakers made the best move they could make. They got their draft pick back cleared room for the summer and now they have to adjust to whats coming. Lakers are a work in progress until the summer of 2019. Anything can happen between now and then. Lakers are looking into going into the 2019-2020 season as a title contender. And I think they can do it once PG-13 gets here this summer and all the young guys continue to improve.

When a timeout was called and Spectrum Sportsnet was going to commercial break you could see Luke basically throwing the clipboard down in frustration. At the time I thought it was about the refs but it was actually about him yelling at our team to "Get F****** back on defense".

We have been inconsistent effort wise on D all season long , maybe it's a lack of stamina too.

The Lakers up until the last two games were a top 10 defensive team in the NBA. I think they were relatively consistent.

And I read during that 16 game stretch where the Lakers won 12 of 16, they were top 3 in defense only behind the Spurs and C Bags.

    That's pretty dang good!

Didn't we drop pretty low to the 20s during that 9 game lose streak though?

You would think Nance was DPOY the way we've played since trading him.

I really hope the trade leads to something way better next season. I understand it's a move for the next season but man the team was finally clicking and actually looked like we were gonna win some damn games.

I don’t care much at the moment. Glad it’s all-star break, tired of watching this current team. Hate KCP, strongly dislike Slowpez, indifferent to IT, starting to get aggravated by Randle again. I don’t even feel it’s worth complaining about refs anymore, because they are now garbage league-wide so it is what it is.

I think throwing IT into a system that was finally clicking really changed things. I'm gonna assume it will work out soon but, right now I'm not feeling it.

i still love the trade because this team wasn't making the playoffs anyways but jfc, were clarkson and nance that important on defense?

where the hell did the D go? it's like i'm watching the lakers of the past few seasons instead of the lakers that had progressed significantly on D this season

I don’t know why Lopez continued to get minutes despite having an awful game and Zu playing his heart out. Asinine.

I don’t want Lopez or KCP around next year no matter what price. Both don’t fit into the system we’re trying to put together and neither contribute anything consistent.

Randle’s reverted back to his old ways of making ill advised mistakes, especially in crucial stretches. I STILL don’t understand why he continues to lower his shoulder on drives, plays defense with his hands down, and never boxed out. Even when stats show differently for him, it’s just frustrating to watch someone unable to improve.

Exactly. Its not so much that we miss clarkson and nance as much as it is breaking up chemistry AND throwing an injured 5'8 PG into the mix all at once.

I just don't understand how we became so discombobulated down the stretch. We were up by 12 with 2:20 to go in the third quarter and then proceeded to just unravel from that point on. It was brutal. This team no longer seems to have any identity or sense of purpose. It's hard to watch.
