Ingram averaging only 2 turnovers per game manning the point is impressive...

    Good article.

We struggled all season to find a half decent backup at PG for Zo. Ennis failed. Caruso fell short. Now out of desperation Luke found maybe the best backup PG in the entire league. I can see using BI as the first wing off the bench for the #1, #2, and #3 spots even after we add George and Bron next year. His game will mesh well with both of them and I can’t wait to see an end game death lineup of Randle, Bron, PG, BI, and Zo.

Ingram will start I think. PG will be shooting guard and Lebron will be pf. But with the way we play, positions are irrelevant for the most part. That end of game death lineup could end up being the starting lineup. With the way the league is now, we can get away with starting Randle at the 5, especially when the rest of our starting 5 is 6'6", 6'8", 6'9", and 6'9". Kuzma and Hart off the bench.

Or we do what GSW does and start a traditional center but play them 10 mins a game.

With another one to back him up in case of foul trouble or poor timing injury. Zu is starting to look like a legit big who just needs some minutes to get up to speed again in the NBA with a better body and quickness this time around.

This is what I see and a big reason I want Brook back. It gives the game a certain tone and protects the rim early.

I'd run Lonzo, George, Ingram, LeBron, Lopez from PG-C, but play Lopez only about 20 minutes a game or so. Bring Randle and Kuzma off the bench. The death lineup of Lonzo, George, Ingram, LeBron, Julius would be just... terrifying really. They can all switch, they can all fly, and hopefully Lonzo and Ingram continue to develop into threats from outside. I had hope at one point for Julius, but I'm not sure he'll ever consistently knock down a jumper.

maybe the best thing i've heard said about the lakers by anyone all year. this is a vet nba player, speaking off the cuff about a system he's only seen from the outside. this is the team walton wanted to build, and frye implies that it's happening.

    good stuff.

btw, not sure it's the right system for IT, but it's the right system for winning basketball, long-term.

Too early to give up. Draymond wasn't a consistent three-point shooter until he was 24. I'd give Julius another summer or two.

I'd love to be proven wrong but if he won't do it this year when he's got all the opportunity in the world I don't know when he will! I think a lot of it is mental, he just doesn't have faith in the shot.

You're right, it's all mental, but confidence in shooting is all about reps, which can only be gained during the summer. Rarely do we see improvements during the season.

    My Optimism:
    - Zo still healing up, will give the team a boost once he's back
    - Could've won by making a few more FT's and 3-balls despite the Mavs' hot shooting night and refs making HCA calls/non-calls
    - It's just the first game with IT/Frye on the team so things are bound to not go as planned
    - The Lakers team itself--salary cap situation, average age, pace, young core, etc.

it was a bad night, defensively, but the mavs did make a lot of shots. watch them play their next game, those same looks won't drop. all the dunks, tho...

green is still not a consistent 3pt shooter ,hes only had that 1 season @38%, been medicore at best for his career, shooting 29% this yr...just be a threat to shoot it n make it once in a while, ill take the 8/7 (reb/asst) along with 17-20pts a night while demolishing the paint

Well Draymond is a career 32.9% three-point shooter. You know who had the exact same career 3P%? Kobe Bean Bryant.

Anything above 30% I'd say is consistent enough to be a threat, which will keep the defense honest. Above 33% makes you a good 3-point shooter, above 35% is great, and above 38% is elite imo.

Glad that Zo will likely have the ASB to heal up even more before coming back and it will also give our coaches and players more time to figure out better how we'll integrate both IT and Frye (if he plays) both on offense and defense.
