So frustrating. If not for this ridiculous win streak, we'd be tied for the second worst record. Now we're in real danger of catching Orlando and Denver. A small part in me is growing that hopes we lose the pick and sign Rondo and just completely crap the bed for the next 3 years so we can get new people in charge. Maybe even get the Buss' to sell the team. Whoever buys the Lakers would undoubtedly have more money than Fort Knox. I like Jeanie, but even she hasn't really done ANYTHING to make us feel confident in her other than she seems more open to talking to the press and fans.

Here's an over 3 minute highlight montage, but it's in China so who knows. He's built for the NBA and athletic. And he has the Paul Pierce / D. Wade being carried off the floor hurt move down already, so he's ready in that regard. Very end of the highlights after landing wrong, and how bad was that??

Yeah he looks pretty unchallenged in those clips, guys flyin in the other direction every time he makes a move. That's not going to happen in the NBA and probably wouldn't be happening in the NCAA. I don't know. Sometimes I wonder if there isn't some kind of an unspoken rule with these guys playing abroad... Like everyone gets to put on a show for the fans. Like the all star game. Maybe someone who's more knowledgeable about the Chinese league could chime in about defensive descipline and coaching. I'm just unaware. To me, Johnson is the bigger more athletic player who will fare better in the NBA.

Screw it, WCS should be #5 on the Lakers' board. Stupid good on defense. His dominance there outweighs Johnson's overall contributions.

If we don't land in the top 3, I'm first shopping the pick. If nothing viable is available, I'm grabbing WCS and calling it a day.

He used to be a decent receiver in football; he is 7 feet and moves like a Small Foward. That recovery is so, so, special on the defensive end. He's number 4 on my personal board...

No wonder Kentucky is so strong this year with the horses they have. Have not been following. Who are numbers 2 and 3 ranked and any of them have a good chance at beating Calipari's monster squad for the championship? Barring unexpected, out of the blue upset. Like it would not be a huge upset.

The AP poll has Virginia ranked at 2; Gonzaga ranked 3; Duke ranked 4; Wisconsin ranked 5. I'd probably say Wisconsin has the best shot at beating Kentucky; the tournament is also hard to predict with so many variables being involved. UK should be the favorite and rightfully so and we'll just have to see if they can march through the tournament with high expectation being undefeated and fulfill their championship aspirations.

I, personally, would be very wary of drafting someone (who I expect to lead the franchise) with neck tattoos and reported "interest in areas other than basketball".

    Just me.

Too many mind games being played by all the teams in the lottery. Trying to lower the value of the sure fire no. 1 and elevate those fringe or lesser talent. I'm sure they're trying to trick the moron in Philly to let go of Embiid and their lottery pick for the No. 1, if ever.:D

Not that interested in Cauley-Stein as a building block.

If this was completely our pick, I'd have no problem with WCS at say 6th. He will be very useful defensively and is athletic enough on offense to where you don't have to run plays for him and he can get points on clean up duty. He'll be a nice piece for someone. I just don't think he's top 5 and he's certainly not a franchise player.

Precisely. Not a guy to build around, but a solid piece if he finds the right home. He's got some things going on in his head that aren't basketball according to some reports. That's not a bad thing, but the guy I want to build my team around is the guy who is absolutely obsessed with basketball.

I see what you did there and no I don't think that's what I mean.

There's a lot of rumors circling that WCS just isn't all that invested in basketball. He's got other interests. Now that's not necessarily a horrible thing, but from a franchise guy I want to know he's committed. I want my Top 5 pick to eat, sleep, and drink basketball. Look at Julius and Jordan for example. They're extremely dedicated and that's what I want from a franchise player.

Nope we'll be fine when our next captain emerges... In his own manner.

What other interests besides basketball? Nothing jumped out at me in the article above that JSM posted.
