Yeah I hear you. I was just throwing out the major names, the order doesn't matter to me. You're probably right.

But this just screams "LeBron is out" and the Lakers are screaming back "we're confident". It's wild and incredibly exciting for us.

If we found a way to flip Deng now with just using picks... We could potentially keep Julius and have a STACKED roster going into next season.

I agree. I'd love to see our guys competing. I just don't know that I see that as very likely. That Cavs team has zero continuity. Their best bet is to play the way we play: all defensive effort and running as fast as they can, but are they built for that?

Whoa, the Cavs just replaced half their team mid-season. Crazy.

I don't see how. They can't trade the Nets pick anymore because of the trade with us.

Thanks Real and Zen for the clarification.

We all know what Jesse Buss does with picks in the late 20s (barring it ain't attached to a Deng dump).

Not Magic. Just Rob. Magic is a figure head.

the key on protected picks is what happens after protection. were we smart like phx was and made it turn to an unprotected pick later, or were we dumb like orlando and had it turn into two seconds?

I'm bad at some of the interworking of how pick protections work. I know that if the pick is in the lottery it would go back to CLE. However, what then happens for us. Do we possibly get the Cavs 2019 1st (lottery protected again)??

Traded Lou last year for the 28th that turned into either Kuz or Hart/Bryant (depending on how you look at it).

I agree he probably ain't the one working the phones, but he will be the major pitch man in those free agent meetings.

I made a mistake I thought the pick was for 2019 so this one is slightly less valuable to us although the cap hold for that pick is only going to be 2 million or so.

Still, that pick has a decent shot of ending up in the high 20s. That's valuable. I'd love to attach it and a future pick with Deng IF we get guarantees from LeBron/George that they're coming.

oh, so it's a 2018 pick. protection doesn't matter then, as cle isn't missing the playoffs.

It depends. We'll get those details soon. Most protected picks come with a scale. So if the Cavs fall out of the playoffs and all the way into the lottery and keep their pick, in 2019 it might be Top 10 protected. In 2020 it might be Top 3 protected. In 2021 it might be unprotected. That type of thing.

We won't know until later though. Possibly later today.

No proof Magic had anything to do with it, outside of "supervision". I've been employed far too long to see this all over.

Yeah I got too excited and forgot what year it is now. :D

It's this year's 1st round pick which is still just an awesome haul.

I don't care where we draft; we're a threat. Best scouting business in the game; besides Spurs.

    My head is spinning.

Love our trade. Nance was my favorite player, so that stings. But had to be done. The 2 Max slots guarantee NOTHING, but The FO had to go all in. It’s a ballsy move that sends all the right signals to PG and LLLLL.

Now I really want to keep Randle. Gimme Ball-Hart-Ingram-Kuz-Randle as our core, then add our hired guns.
