    Is he really though?

    https://sportsbystats.com/2017/01/20/deandre-jordans-underrated-defense-is-in-rudy-goberts-shadow/

And who do you expect to get that would be a better fit? Boogie would've been worse defensively. Marc's name has been thrown around, but would his speed affect our pace, or would he play a Bogut role?

for dj i stated a specific trait of his or lacking which is a poor defender of PnR, his weak side blocks is whats saving him n even those #s have declined. id rather continue the 20xx plan then pay dj 25/yr for 4yrs

Who says it has to be 4 yrs? The rage nowadays are 1+1's anyways, especially with 2019 also being a big free agent year.

Also per Friedell, Niko is getting shut down till the trade deadline while the Bulls figure out where to send him.

And per Woj, so too is Memphis with Ty.

I haven’t seen him play in forever. I swear he was just well liked a few years ago. Has his game fallen off that much or has the NBA moved beyond his style of play that quickly?

good question. i haven't seen him much, either. seemed like an al jefferson type, and al was useful as recently as last year, i think (then he ate a small village).

    i think he's a scoring center who doesn't defend.

That’s right, that was the knock on him back then. He was a pretty coveted 2nd tier free agent, but his defense due to mobility was a big question mark or strike against him.

Monroe has the mobility of Roy Hibbert. He’s dialed it in for his career, he’s coasting now. Wouldn’t take that chance.

Woj reports that Boston is the front runner for Monroe at the moment with their $8.4M Hayward Disabled Player Exemption.

Not sure if the Suns are going full tank, but it looks like they will need a body to replace not only Monroe but Canaan too....

Agreed 100% . I mean the Wolves ( with KAT being way better than any of our prospects) sucked until they got Butler .

We badly need a top 15-20 player in this league to be relevant again and make the playoffs .

" Potential" and " bright future" are hypothetical words as it can get ....

Couldn't agree more... We have some good pieces that I believe will do very well around one or two stars -- we just need the star(s) now. I'm really hoping to get rid of Deng so we can ultimately "turn the corner" on past mistakes, but these are the sorts of things I've been saying for the past few years now.

Kevin Love breaks his own hand with 12,000 psi of passive aggression. He keeps sticking it to the Kang.

Utah might be going into full on tank mode soon...

With Favors there too, that's nearly 22M in expiring. If LA does find a way, we can just trade for JJ and buy him out so that he can join a playoff team.

Also, the market for Deng is obviously bleak. NY is now considering adding their own 1st round pick to move off of Noah's contract. Lakers got nowhere in doing the same thing with Deng, however we were offering future picks. The Suns were also trying to move Monroe before agreeing to a buyout, but there were no takers for his expiring deal. So my dreams of dumping Deng will probably go unrealized.
