We should make an offer for him if he's available.

I know he tends to be injury prone, but I would throw Lopez+BI+Randle for him in a heartbeat.

Flip Clarkson for a draft pick without taking any salary back. Sign George.

    I could roll with Zo+George+Kuz+Nance+AD.

I think they'd offer those two. It might be financially impossible to have 4 max players on one team.

kd/steph/green/ad..... that 4 with a team full of dleaguers would still demolish the league, i doubt theyd have to do both...klay/mccaw/bell n several 1st would do if they can get klay locked up going to nop

If you're the Clippers, do you offer Gallinari for Boogie Cousins? Does New Orleans consider it? I mean, with New Orleans capped out, they aren't getting better through free agency. Boogie may be damaged goods. Just spit ballin'.

I appreciate the Jerry West respect here. The man has certainly earned it. But, the reality is that he is NOT the Clippers team president. He is NOT the GM. He is a consultant. None of us know how much influence he actually has behind the scenes. This has been Doc River's team up until now. Maybe that is changing with these moves. But none of us are certain that the man pulling the strings is 80 year old - half retired Jerry West. Why would any big name free agent hitch his wagon to Jerry West under the above scenario while also ignoring the continuing clown show that was / is / always will be the Clippers?

fair enough. my retort: jerry's only needed a short time to get things going in the right direction. he can walk after that. and i'm pretty sure the austin rivers/paul scenario relegated doc to a gm in name only. rightly or wrongly, his nepotism drove the best thing that ever happened to that franchise out the door. i'm guessing his bosses took note and told him he's not in control of personnel anymore.

Because he's 80 for one. A rebuild takes what 5-6 years? The same way my 75 year-old dad can't remember how to work netflick or the remote is why I'm not worried about West. He's from a different generation and today's fa players have little to no familiarity with West and his previous GM work. He played some ghost role in GS but they had their wheels set in motion already, they had their players. It was not a rebuild. Durant was not his work, the fact they winning more games than ever before and championships and had cap space brought him.

Doc has just come out and said they are not looking to trade Lou and D. We'll see, I don't see why they wouldn't want to move DJ. You can worry about West and the clips all you want, like I said, I'm not. A rebuild takes too long and though West may help them with some picks down the road, it is neither here nor now.

you named a package of players vs another package, then isolated the matchup you liked.

    1. assumption
    2. if he's on his way out, assets are coming back

the standings take that clippers roster over ours.

    gallinari, age 22: 16/5, 41%, 35% 3, vorp 1.3, WS .14
    kuzma, age 22: 16/6, 46%, 37% 3, vorp .3, WS .08

they look similar, and one day soon, they'll be paid similarly.

odd strategy. they're six games better than us missing their best player (with zilch behind him) for 1/3 of the season. but...they're a wasteland...

they don't have much. my argument is that we don't.

    lol, you are correct!

my point is that's a laker fan's view. jordan would be our best player by a good margin.

just because we started rebuilding earlier doesn't mean we're ahead. we've just been s***ty longer. look at sac; look at boston.

my speculation: jerry west isn't planning on signing a big-name FA this summer. he's planning on stockpiling picks and trading them for a disgruntled star. or something to this effect. i may be wrong, but i don't see moving griffin for a player who has salary going beyond this year as a sign he's chasing lebron.

to whom? fans? or lebron? the former: yes. the latter: meh. lebron's 33.

? it's just not an advantage for us.

totally agree. and i think the discussion of their FA impact is media speculation. i think they know nobody wants to play there, which *may* put them a step ahead of the lakers.

plato said socrates was the wisest because he knew that he knew nothing.

magic seems to think he knows everything.
