There are reports coming out already that the Clippers trades Biff to clear cap room to chase big name free agents this summer.

I just don’t see how their pitch would be anymore attractive than the Lakers...

“Paul, LeBron.... imagine if you came to LA to team up with Danilo Gallinari and Tobias Harris! The West is ours for the taking!”

Yeah, with Lebron already hyping Zo, and the buzz that Kuz has around him, there’s no way the Clippers have any draw the way they’re currently constructed and the way they’ve just sent their best player out for peanuts, no thanks.

Imagine magic Johnson, Rob Lowe and Kobe Bryant in a pitch meeting vs 80 year old Jerry West. I'll take my chances with our pitch team

    I'm hoping you're right here.

I will admit, I've always been uneasy about our chances of pulling in free agents this summer.

I don't see it happening either. The more likely scenario for the Clippers is to tank, find a promising rookie or two, and then use that cap space for a star in 2020 or something like that.

I don't think they even have enough room to get 2 max stars right now. I might take them more seriously...if they had cap room for 3 stars.

Yeah I'm a little uneasy with him in control. He's managed to trade CP3 and Griffin for a ton of assets. I'm also expecting Lou and DJ to be traded too.

I'll take a bet right now. I made a good argument and you all know it. There's very little reason to pick the Clippers over the Lakers.

If you disagree, build an argument for the Clippers over the Lakers.

Guys guys... Jerry is a lifelong Laker. He's there to give us DeAndre for peanuts, just like the good old Kwamay for Pau trade.

A ton of assets? A couple mediocre draft picks and Lou Williams? Im honestly wondering what are the assets? I feel like our sucktitude for half a decade has given us a better stable of assets. :D

At this point it's Paul George or bust for me. If he stays in OKC then we resign Randle and move on to Klay in 2019 when we'll have more flexibilty dumping Deng's contract as well.

If all goes well we'll have both George and Klay

Lou, Harris and Bradley are starters, maybe throw Beverley into that mix as well. Dekker, Harrell and Marjonavic are serviceable players. And a couple of first round draft picks in this years draft. If those aren't assets then we have two different definitions of the word. Obviously our young players trump all that but they have pieces to go make bigger trades and now cap room too.

West don't matter. He can't sell Doc who is still on the floor isn't exactly held in high regard around the league anymore. Meanwhile Austin Rivers is having a career year for the Clips. of course. They're trying to offload Lou Will too? Why? He's an awesome 6th on a champ team. This doesn't sound like a move to keep them in contention or put them in a spot for a quick-rebuild around a super star(s). It reeks of rebuild from the ground up.

How does West not matter, he's the master of rebuilds and that's what the Clippers are doing.

Woj reported they are looking to trade Lou and DJ for young players and picks. And don't forget, West has an eye for talent.

Develop the young guys and maybe you'll find some diamonds amongst coal. You have a couple of veteran players that keeps the team somewhat afloat or trade them. And you have a handful of picks that are super valuable these days.

Hmm, DeAndre has a player option next year so he could end up a rental. Maybe if he opts in?

Either way I think we have to include JC or Randle (well ideally Deng...) for big trades like that. Otherwise we'd have no cap space left to sign a max this summer or lose Randle for nothing.
