We need another Nwaba type of find from a defensive standpoint. All hustle, all energy, and commitment to being a stopper.
Nothing new, just a new source. Same idea that anyone who has seen him play a couple times has of him.
I want to be positive about the signing, but he doesn't bring any much-needed floor spacing to our backcourt.
"The Mitten" with 4 pts/4 ast/2 blk in 12 minutes of action today. Saw his OSU highlights earlier and he seems to have a nice stroke but only shooting ~30% 3FG in both college and the G-League. His ~50% 2FG is probably due to taking less jumpshots and more layups and dunks. Maybe Payton II can play the point with the second unit. Ennis does not impact the game...Caruso is a mixed bag at this level.
I liked some things and I hated others. His defense was not at all what I would have hoped for, but his offense was much better than I hoped for. Still somewhere in the C- range, but with some room to grow. I certainly thought more of him than Ennis and Caruso who both look like Fs.
I thought Payton did more on the court today than the other two combined. I was thinking just leave him in he rest of the game. Couldn’t stand to watch the other two a moment more. Glad Luke thought the same.
