I don't think Hill is worth a 1st. I think it's a combination of a couple of things; Hill not being valued as high by opposing GM's and us not having enough to attach with Hill, IMO.

You know... could it be that Davis is our guy moving forward? This guy is really good and I absolutely love his demeanor... I really hope we get him back this summer.

Love Davis, I hope we Mihm him, let him look around the league and know what he is worth. If we can match it without messing our plans then do it.

Sounds great, but how do you afford both Butler AND Jordan?

Parsons' contract starts at 14.7 million. We'll have only 20-22 million available in Cap room. Is DeAndre going to sign for less than 10 million? If he will, I'd be ecstatic. That lineup would be fantastic.

I'd be ecstatic with that lineup too. Probably not going to contend next year, but that puts us in a great position. You have Kobe to set an example with a good mix of "young veterans" and rookies.

Then when Kobe calls it, you slide Butler up and make room for Durant. It'd be a great team for a good while.

I hate to say it, but Butler is probably untouchable from Chicago's perspective. They will max him I think without question. Not many guys average 20 ppg and play excellent defense. A max contract for him starts at 13 million I believe? When the cap goes up...that deal will be a steal.

You're probably right so I hope that the Bulls somehow piss him off. :)

They won't. The only way Kennedy's pipe dream could come true is if the Bulls agreed to an S&T with us...

And he's an RFA so the Bulls could toilet paper his house every day for the rest of the year and they could still match any offer. We have nothing to offer in a S&T. Looks like Wes Matthews is our guy.

Don't get me wrong. He's a solid player, but put him on this team all season and what do we have? Two more wins? Three?

I don't think it's any guarantee that Chicago matches a max offer for Butler. Rose just went down for the season yet again. Noah hasn't been able to stay healthy. Taj has been playing hurt. They have a lot of big contracts already & aren't going to be in a position to contend with all of these injury issues. Not the type of team you want to be paying a big tax bill for & I don't see how they trade away any of their big contracts.

I also think Phx will choose to blow it up after missing the playoffs, so if we don't draft Mudiay a trade for Bledsoe might be possible, it makes more sense for them to keep Knight for a rebuild being 2 years younger & without the knee injuries. Give them something like Nick Young, Kelly, Crawford, Hou 1st. Should be enough assets for them in a rebuild.

^ I actually read the Chi situation the opposite way. Without Rose, they're still a well built team with a positive culture, two of the best bigs in the league, and one of the best two way guards in the game in Butler. I think they definitely keep him now. He'll be pushed into the role of face of the team. They'll essentially give him the money they clear when Booz comes off the books. Then they'll move Gibson for a PG. That'll still be a top 4 team in the East. And with Love possibly leaving, it'll open up the race a little more.

Too soon to tell, but I'm sure those discussions just heated up in their FO.

If I were them I'd go the JSM route. Even without Rose they're probably one of the Top 4 teams out East, right? Toronto, Cleveland, Atlanta, and maybe Washington? I take my chances.

All it does for me is force me to move on from trying to build around Rose. If/When he comes back onto the floor it's to compliment another player. That player at this point will probably be Butler.

I'm in agreement with JSM. Just because you have a few issues on your roster, doesn't mean you just say "screw it" and let your best player walk out the door. You lock him up. You wait for Rose and Noah to clear off your books, then reload with all that cap space and Butler. Rose, after this season only has two seasons left. Noah's only got one after this season. So a 5 year max deal gives them 3 seasons without all those possible bad contracts (they could still get healthy), and then Butler enters his prime and another max deal.

This year's Bulls team is deep enough to withstand Rose's injuries, don't think they will make it to the finals though. Agree with JSM here, this gives them all the more reason to offer Butler the max. And in a couple years his deal will be such a bargain. He was always a pipe dream though.

The title of this article is misleading. It almost makes it sound like Karl wants to trade Cousins FOR Lawson. Fairly certain that is NOT the case.

But I agree with Battle Tested, except I would say anyone BUT Randle. If Clarkson and the 3rd or 4th pick in the draft gets it done, you do it in a SECOND. A frontline of Cousins and Randle for the next 8 years would be similar to what Charlotte was trying to build back in the day with Zo and Grandmama.
