Thanks!! Kobe's my Guy on top of all the other greatest of Lakers who were my Guys before. Greatest Laker ever IMO for a number of my own reasons. Not to diminish Magic or Kareem. Was anyone else here there? Getting all nostalgic over the Mamba today big time. So many thrilling moments and so much given of his body over the years playing through injuries no one would have played through like even the next day and doing it well unbelievably. Freaking splints and even a small cast if I recall correctly at one point on his shooting hand and he adjusts and goes out there and still makes shots. The bad ankle sprains that rarely ever sidelined him. Ruptured achilles walks on his own while in the depths of his own despair to the free throw line and sinks two because we needed them and then walks under his own power off the court. 60 points and we needed them to come all the way back to beat Utah in a game they wanted in the last game of his career. UNBELIEVABLE. A player for all the ages.
Have you watched the Dear Basketball animation yet? Reading it was one thing, having a Disney illustrator animate it and John Williams score it, and Kobe narrate it...chills.
Damn, damn, damn I wanted this bad. There are so many things I'd like to say right now but none are appropriate to our website.
Many friends and ex-teammates came tonight to see his jersey retirement ceremony. They probably planned to meet after the game.
I miss Kobe. I haven't followed the NBA as closely after he retired. Some great quotes and stories from predraft Kobe:
..... or possibly a family consideration. They had all the girls and the youngest one was awesome all night..... but it was late at that point and they had a drive of some distance to get home though not sure where they live now. The older girls probably could not skip school Tuesday.
