Personally, I'm overwhelmed by the BAD pumpkin beers. But there are good ones, and I love 'em.

I like the fall season offering from Sam Adams. Unfortunately no hazel brown ale this time.

I've always hated rum (Bacardi, Meyers) until I tried "good' rum. I'm totally into it now. These two are great and reasonably priced ~$35

I want this sooooo badly. This is a whiskey distilled from beer, an ipa to be exact. i've heard great things about it; rich with toffee and piney hops. It's hard to come by and only available online, but it's illegal to ship alcohol into california. I'll find a way.

I don't know. People have given me "good" rum, and I don't think I've ever enjoyed it more than Bacardi Gold.
I've had Mount Gay. Maybe my rum pallet is jacked.

Incidentally, I'd also never pay more than whatever Smirnoff costs. Grey Goose doesn't make sense to me.

maybe it was just marketing, but iirc there was some blind taste test where smirnoff beat out both stoli and goose.

I've heard that. I'm actually not a Vodka fan, but if I'm drinking it, it's Smirnoff.

I'm not a vodka guy either. My first "puking my guts out" experience was due to vodka. I can only drink it as a tonic with lime/lemon/or cranberry.

Right now, I'm thoroughly enjoying a Mount Gay XO, neat from my USC mug.

Because Westerners, for some reasons, think that vodka should be consumed like whiskey - sipping it near fire or something.

    Nope.

Vodka is intended to be consumed along food, at a table. Food should preferably be either cold (think smoked salmon) and with character (punch, if you will) or
    hot and filling.

Try it once. Say with Russian beef/pork dumplings (pelmeni).

Hmmm... Foggy recollection if I had something to eat that evening. I probably did but man oh man the next day was one for the ages. On par with the gaggle of 7 for 7's at a frat party that gave way to an incident at a local park and crawling the wall trying to find my bed.

Aha, well, it might be a saying that alcoholics use, but in at least in case of vodka hangover - you cure it with vodka.

Basically, something hot (as in temperature), spicy and substantial with a shot of vodka used to work for many...

Drinking a lot of fluids before you go to bed (while drunk) also might have been a good idea.

Turned 21 almost a year ago and have been exploring alcoholic drinks since then haha. Not of fan of spirits, if I have to I'd go with jack and coke.
Beer though, current favorites are Franziskaner and Sam Adams Boston Lager.
    Any recommendations beer wise?

Step up to some belgians. Costco carries some nice beers. Pick up a Chimay Blue Label and a Unibroue Fin Du monde and let us know what you think.

The Bruery is far and away my favorite um... brewery, and I look forward to their holiday release every year based on The 12 Days of Christmas song. I only discovered them at 5 Golden Rings, which was delicious. 6 Geese of Laying was also very good last year. i'm enjoying a 7 Swans a Swimming right now, and it's really good.

6 Geese was awesome because it was unique. A belgian quad brewed with gooseberries was very creative and the flavors went very well together. 7 Swans is just a really nice belgian quad. It's really really nice, but nothing creative, so...meh.

    Total Wines are good go-tos.

I've been on a bourbon sour kick.
    I do them this way:
    2 oz Bourbon
    0.5 oz lime juice
    0.5 oz organic honey
    1 egg yolk
Combine with crushed ice, shake the deuce out of it.
    Top with bitters.
    ENJOY
