I think that to build a contender, something the lakers are looking to do on quick pace, you need a good SF. it's a hugh factor. unless you play like the Hawks. in crunch time you need this type of defensive guy.
I guess so, but JR Smith is better than Wes too... I don't know if I would want him on my team though.
JR is one of the worst players in the NBA. I wouldn't take him over anyone on our roster. Would you put Gerald Green in the same category as JR Smith?
We talking brain power here? Honestly I would. I think the Per36 numbers show Green scoring more than Smith, but otherwise comparable numbers across the board. I'm not sure more time and more minutes would point to more production for Green, so I would say they're pretty comparable players. Uber athletes that don't have much basketball IQ. I think that fits both their bills.
I would rather ship Fredo Buss out to stay with Moe Greene personally. Like Fredo Coreleone I hope the next time we go fishing is the last. Jeff Green would be nice if the Ronnie is right.
Jimmy Butler & Brandon Knight. We could keep Randle & draft a C with our top 5 pick or trade them both for a win now frontcourt.
Philly is itching to make a deal. Can we screw them as bad as we did with Bynum? Too bad they have nothing we want at this moment.
MCW definitely got overhyped some off his rookie stats but I think he's reached the level of being underrated now due to his horrible efficiency. I would definitely take him if the price is right. Noel is also another very attractive piece, & we could always gamble on Embiid. With all of the drama about him blowing up to 300 lbs. & them not wanting him around the team, maybe we take a chance on him for what Philly always seems to want in trades, 2nd round picks.
Philly wanted Randle or Marcus Smart / Exum plus Embiid (Cake and Eat it Too). They wanted too much for MCW and no one wanted Young (who is now on the block again). I think Philly is this generation's New York knicks. Terrible FO. Without Bynum I don't see how we can fleece them. But they are there to be taken.
Me and you both. I can't go through another one of these seasons. We need that pick, though. Pick through the players we want back that are cheap, can fill a needs for us next year, and go shopping for either 1 max or 2 players that will add talent and fill the needs we have on the roster. Matthews fills a wing position that is sorely needed at this time. Switch Wesley to his more natural position at the 2 and have Kobe play the 3. Monroe is a decent big. It's not an ideal fit next to Randle, but he'll be find in the interim while we try to gain our ground back into relevancy. He'll board well, rebound well, and even if his defense is just average in the team concept, I'll take it. He's also an asset that could be potentially moved down the line if need be. We need this team moving forward progressively while continue to be in asset acquisition mode with picks and players.
