Yeah I think that's probably his ceiling. I could see him in a Jordan Farmar role on a good team.

I don't thin we're taking either of those guys. We have Clarkson as our backup pg. I think we will be taking either Mudiay or Russell since Towes and Okafor are going to go 1-2 (imo). So that Houston pick will likely be used on a wing.

Sixers, who picked up LA's top five protected pick from Phoenix, will undoubtedly be rooting hard for the Lakers the rest of the way.

Don't we play two games against them coming up? They won't even try.

If that's the case, I think we should try to shoot the 3 every time we touch the ball. Might be fun.

^ Why I have always not been high on taking Okafor #1. Right now give me Towns or Russel if I have the #1 pick

Saw some clips of Johnson and he looks impressive. Wouldn't complain at all if we landed him either.

Finally read the whole thing. He and Johnson so are mature and beyond their years. Towns and some of the things hes done that are mentioned in this article are awesome. I would absolutely love it if we, the Lakers fans, would have the honor of drafting this great, young man.

I can already tell that he's not going to ever have the Kobe, Mamba mentality, but he'll be the kind of person that you can look up to and want your kids to emulate.

Quick - sign Bynum....would be awesome to have him in there against Philly - shooting 3's and sticking it to them, just one more time.

I was thinking the same thing about not having a Kobe killer mentality...seems more like a Pau mentality...you know, there are actually other things in life besides basketball. But Pau still managed a HOF career so I'd take that. Not that he's got Pau-level skills. But Looking at Stanley Johnson, holy s***...that dude looks way better than Mudiay (bigger, stronger, faster in the clips I saw). I haven't seen the negatives on him though. He just looks obviously ready for the NBA to me. He's going to overpower guys. Imagining him paired with Randall, wo. That'd be a nice sendoff for Kobe and they'd be so much better having played with him.

Seems like a good kid. I think Kobe would absolutely hate him. :D

No not hate him, but all this talk about "developing at your own speed" makes me think this kid could take a little longer than I thought. He's super raw and he sounds like a cerebral kid, but when you hit the NBA you better be ready to focus mainly on the one thing: basketball. Gasol is able to branch out and become a Renaissance man because he's so good on the floor. The way this kid talks makes me think he's probably a 2-3 year project.

That's not a bad thing. I'd take him for sure. I just think the Lakers aren't looking for just a project, but a kid who can impact the game right now. That's why Okafor and Johnson are so high up my draft boards for the Lakers.

Yeah I agree. He seems to be appraoching his game exatly the right way but that could be misinterpreted around here as some how being lazy or apathetic (translation: content with not winning a championship right now). He does look a little underdeveloped to me (JaVale McGee skillwise?). I really haven't seen enough of him to judge though. From the clips I've seen of Okafor though, he's been underwhelming to me too though for all the hype around him (maybe I'm just not looking hard enough because I really don't think we'll land him). Anthony Davis would probably kill him IMO. I think pre-injuries Oden looked much more impressive and Davis would probably kill him too. I really like Johnson though and I don't understand why he's not in the top 3. Maybe he will be come draft day.

Okafor is the real deal. Watch him play and you see a kid with a tremendous feel around the rim offensively. A natural rebounder who finds his way to the ball and uses his great strength and size to position himself. He's not a great leaper, but he's good enough. He's an above average passer out of the post already and shows great patience in the post. Defensively he's not going to be a great rim protector, but he's pretty good as a one-on-one post defender.

Towns has more potential honestly, but I'm not convinced he ever reaches it. Even if he does, it'll be a ways down the road.

I've been a big Stan Johnson supporter. I love his attitude, his demeanor, his game, and he's got an NBA body already. My board is-

    Okafor
    Towns
    Johnson
    Mudiay
    Russell
