Wolverine maybe. I just don't see them pushing all the other pieces into the mix. Just with F4 alone they'd be able to maintain MCU strength for a good 10 more years. Save X-Men for when Marvel starts to lose steam.

Other properties that Disney would love to get a piece of: Alien, Planet of the Apes, and... Avatar.

I would imagine the X-Men would be pushed off until later and get its own phase. The big deal would be the FF4 and more importantly their villains and silver surfer which could be dropped into a GotG3 mid/post credits scene.

They'd definitely keep making X-Men movies. I imagine they'll probably try to make things a little more fluid.

Do not want, there’s already too few studios. I’m no Matt Goldberg fan, but I agree with his take. Do we get Logan, Deadpool, Planet of the Apes, etc if Disney is running things?

Yes you do absolutely. I would be shocked if Disney made sweeping changes to that studio. Honestly, they probably let them continue running themselves and might not even change the name. They'd shuffle some executives and of course Marvel would get some of their characters back, but why would Disney stop making the X-Men movies? Why would they stop making Planet of the Apes or Avatar or Alien? Hell if Disney keeps their name off the movies, they can keep making R-Rated Predator and Alien films. The only thing that would change is who pockets the cash at the end of the day: Giant Company 1 or Giant Company 2?

Disney is all about the $$$$, and there are not going to bring non Disney friendly properties into the house of Mouse. Certain ones like x men will for sure as they get folded into the MCU, and other family friendlies too, but they are savy enough to understand that Aliens are not gonna fit that mold and leave those franchises/properties in different branch of the mega corporation that is rebranded like 20th Century Fox becomes "Some stupid edgey name Studios"

Although how cool would it be to create a more adult-oriented theme park with Alien and Predator? And Avatar?

Something like that could still happen and be a part of the current real estate they own, they would just call it "Stupid edgy name Studio" park and leave Walt's name off of it. It's not like all Disney owned properties fit in the Disney branding.

In the end if Disney as a company is intending on getting into the streaming game and competing with Netflix or even an HBO in behooves them to keep a more mature studio in house that produces content that adults want to watch. They can then appeal to both the parent and the child.

It could, but I'd bet Disney wouldn't want to put much money into it. They're doing major work on Disneyland right now and Disneyworld already has an Avatar attraction if I recall correctly.

I'm clearly late to see Thor but I enjoyed it. The action was some of the best in MCU but the story telling was off. Hated how much comedy there was when this is freaking Ragnorak we're talking about. I understand Marvel being the lighter of the two power house comic studios but tonally, this could have been a shade darker.

What I really hate about this movie was the trailers. Imagine going into this not knowing Hulk was going to be in it. Or at least don't make it seem like we don't know it was going to be Hulk with that Goldblum intro Hulk got.

Best Thor movie though, even if I wasn't expecting much from it. It felt like one of those chapters in a book you speed through to get to the good stuff. I.e. Black Panther and Infinity Wars.

    Also:

Doctor Strange was great in the quick moments he was in this movie.
Talk about the opposite of a viking funeral for Thor's battle buddies.
Remember when post credit scenes gave you a teaser for the bigger picture or the next movie? Held my piss in for nothing.

The important post-credit scene with Thor on the ship talking to his brother leads directly into Infinity War. The giant ship that comes up on the Asgardians is Thanos's.

Is that confirmed or still a rumor?

In anycase I was mostly talking about the second one. The one after the scroll credits.

    It's confirmed. https://www.thewrap.com/thor-ragnarok-post-mid-credits-scene-explained-kevin-feige/

But yes that last end scene was pretty useless. I didn't even really find it all that funny and if anything it sort of diminishes the power/mystique of the Grandmaster.

I don't know if any of you have watched Punisher yet, but I finished it over the weekend and it is by far my favorite of the Netflix MCU properties.

I'll preface this by saying it isn't the easiest subject matter, especially in today's climate. It's got some graphic violence in it (and fairly graphic sex scenes as well). It's not going to be for everyone.

However, it does an absolutely incredible job of representing our veterans, their struggles, and the family environment of soldiers coming back from war. It's brutal and raw in its representation, but it's honest. There are two episodes that are my absolute favorites that I would put up against any of the Marvel shows we've seen thus far.
Episodes 10 and 12 are quite possibly my favorite episodes ever. They're as good as anything we've seen and hit home in so many ways more than just plain violence. They're wonderfully told stories.

I give it a 9/10 and put it just above Daredevil Season 1.

I'm 6 episodes in, and I am loving it so far. I didn't think I would like it and was prepared to bail if the first couple episodes didn't hook me. But it is good. Not sure if I put it above DD Season 1 yet, but I still have half a season left.

Totally forgot that it came out, will probably check it out months late. But wow, above DD season 1 huh, high praise. I'll probably check it out weeks late then.
