I'm thinking the same thing. Phoenix sees the writing on the wall here. The Lakers have a rebuild plan right now and so far it's working. All we have to do now is get that pick and the dominoes start falling.

Looking at our roster and the schedule and I just don't see how we will win more than 6 to 8 games coming down the stretch. We will finish in the bottom 5.

Isn't it only top 3 protected next year? We could still be really bad next season making that pick even harder to keep. That pick could still be a top 10 pick if we strike out in free agency this offseason. Do you really believe a team potentially starting 2 rookies (Randle is technically a rookie), a second year pg and a 37 year old Kobe is going to win more than 35 games next season? That pick could be pretty valuable.

@Savory Griddles Could be, but I think everyone feels the heat from the pressure cooker this summer. Mitch and Jimmy have to go all out and knock it out of the park in the draft and free agency. We might not land a star, but we're at least getting two very good third tier players. We might not be a playoff team, but if Kobe has anything left, I don't think we will be anywhere near as God awful as we are this year. I don't see that pick being better than middle of the pack, right outside of the lottery.

Givony from Draft express had a tweet, that next years draft is pretty weak in eyes of GM around the league. Were few next year picks were traded-everyone wanted this years picks.
I still dont get what Philly is doing, in every trade oportunity they give their best players for some future picks. It is known that no team wants more then 3-4(if rebuilding) rookies on the roster, who will take those 17 second round picks...

They have at least 8 picks in this draft.

Funny thing is, they could get the first 7 players, and then they'd trade those players away for draft picks the following year. And the perpetutank will continue.

:D These two games might turn out to be the ugliest basketball in the history of the NBA. 76ers are going to desperately try to give us both games.

I'm not sure the loss of MCW is going to really hurt the Sixers all that much. He was having a fairly bad year. 15 ppg on 38% shooting isn't going to be missed all that much. Granted, he was their only real pg on the roster. :D

It'll be interesting to see if Byron openly tries to tank that game. Maybe by sitting Nick Young and Jordan Hill with minor injuries or something...

They gave up MCW and McDaniels, equating to 24 PPG and now they don't have an actual PG. It's going to be even uglier for the 76ers going forward.

Great night for us in the Tankathon!

Wolves and Magic win, while we lose again.

I'm sure @RandleROFY will post the screen shot of the new standing

    Yeah Important tanking game here.

I didn't like the Boozer wasn't playing. If you're not gonna play him, hurry up and cut him so he can join a good team.

Philly is soo good at tanking. I mean jesus... It's like their third or fourth season in a row doing the whole tank thing. And just destroying everyone else in the tanking.

Agreed. I'm an advocate of waiving him, but only because I think it can help the Lakers tank and help him join a team with a shot to win. He has been a better player than I expected, a good teammate, and a professional through and through. Deserves better than this. Maybe getting this DNP will push him to ask to be waived.

Our post game shows have become funny to me at this point. It's gotta be tough for Worthy and co. to act like they're disappointed in our losing and don't understand what's going on after every single game. They have to break down the terrible defense and obvious tanking lineups as if we are trying to actually teach our players anything.

Yeah I mean if you're not going to play him and let him increase his contract value, then let him go. Not a good job by Byron.
