    Goran Dragic is not going to make or break the Lakers in FA. I can't believe the push he's gotten in the last week. He's good, but he's not this level good that he is being projected as with all this controversy.

    Damn, not enough assets. If only we had like two really nice players the last few seasons that we could of traded before they walked to two different teams for nothing.

    Yeah, well, with the cap going up Doc, I wanted to sign an impact FA this year to move this rebuild forward. You could be right. Either way, Miami can't afford to lose him now, and we didn't do anything stupid while maintaining our ultimate goals for the year:

    1. Get top 5 pick.
    2. Maintain hard-earned cap flexibility going forward.

    We dodged a bullet... Dragic is not the answer to our problems. Especially if we were gonna give him a max deal... 20 mil too many. Guy is worth 10-12 mil a year. Not 18-20

    That's now news. We're not asset acquisition mode right now. Now, if we were in the position Boston is in as an example, we'd have Dragic by now...

    It wouldn't be 18-20 with the cap going up. More like 14-16 a year. Arguing that is overpaying him is fair, but I wasn't too concerned about it given the Lakers history of over paying for players and even going into the luxury tax when contending for championships.

    Look at it this way. It takes one big market team out of the FA race this offseason. Now it's basically us and the Knicks because Miami is certainly going to have to pay Dragic more knowing that we can offer him a large deal as well.

    Forget Dragic. MCW to Bucks, IT to Philly, Knight to Suns. I really hope this doesn't hurt our chances of signing Knight. Hopefully he'll be just as unhappy as Goran was.
