That deal with Miami makes the most sense. In Sarver's mind:

    1. Send him away from LA.
    2. Send him away from the West.
    3. Send him away from LA.
    4. F*** LA.
    5. Get a couple of assets that can be flipped into a piece down the line.

Well, if we don't get Dragic we could always go after Rondo...:(

IF the Lakers target Rondo it cannot be for the max or anything close to it. He's 29 and clearly on the decline. If it were me at the helm I would stay away from him altogether unless he's willing to take a very team-friendly deal.

He's constantly hurt and needs a roster specifically catered toward his strengths to be successful. He's been a disappointment with Dallas so far, and if anything, I hope Cuban gives him a max-deal, and he's their problem for the next 5 years.

I agree with this, but Cuban is pretty savvy. He is not afraid to cut bait a little early to avoid being stuck. Granted, it's bit him twice when he thought Nash and Chandler were about done, but I think he realizes the trade itself may have been a mistake. I don't think he offers him any contract over 10 million. I think we would though because Kobe loves him.

I thought about that the other day; if Dallas had the chance to do it all over again knowing what they know now, would they have done it? Monta and Rondo both need the ball in their hands and Carlisle has to stagger minutes between the two so they could be most effective. Monta and Rajon are both unrestricted FA's at the end of the year, and Ellis is the cheaper option. You could be right. I could definitely see Cuban not wanting to pony up the money during negotiations and Rondo testing Free Agency. I just don't want to pony up a max deal to Rondo and be stuck with him after Kobe retires...

Sarver is an idiot. Oh man I cant wait until we (or another team even) snatch up Dragic this summer and he gets absolutely nothing. Oh what a good day that'll be.

Will be interesting, they will lose him for nothing, he said that he is gone. And teams he wants will have cap space so no S/T.

I'm ready for that. I'm mentally preparing myself for him getting a max offer, but I'm ready for that AS LONG AS WE GET OUR TOP 5 PICK...

    Dragic/Clarkson
    Bryant
    ______/Young
    Randle/Kelly
    Okafor/Black/Sacre

I'm ready to start with that even if that means a ridiculous contract to Dragic. THAT team can make the playoffs and is absolutely a destination for Durant and others to consider.

It'd depend I think on how much we end up paying Dragic. If we end up "making a statement" by giving Dragic a max deal then I don't think we can afford any more impact players this summer. We'd be left with minimum deals again.

ESPN reporting Heat's pitch for Goran Dragic is Norris Cole, Josh McRoberts, Birdman and two first-round picks.

That's not a bad package at all. They might take that at the very last minute...

I've been calling that from the beginning. I think it makes a ton of sense to move Dragic to Miami. If Sarver was smart he'd have done it already and given LA the middle finger.

I'm guessing the CONSTANT chatter that Dragic wants LA is scaring teams off. Especially since they know we can and will flex muscle if we have to this summer.
