I don't want Westbrook. I hope we steer clear of him...by the time he's even an FA, those knees will have more wear and tear, and who know if he is going to even be effective past the age of 30. He hasn't mastered any fundamentals and relies on his athleticism but his footwork, IQ, remain low. No thanks.

I hate him, but if he was a Laker I'd absolutely love him.

I have rarely seen a player that wants it as badly as he does. There's few players left that have the kind of heart Kobe does and Russell is one of them. Lillard is another. Randle showed a little of that edge before he got hurt. Nene actually comes to mind. He just needs someone to get in his head and teach him to pick his spots better. Kobe did that for Nick Young. I'm not sure he could do it for Westbrook at this point, but if Westbrook ever learned to pick his spots he'd be the best PG in the game.

I absolutely love watching him play! Right now he is my favorite player to watch. He is all over the court like a downed power line swinging, sparking, it's way all over the place.Yeah he's a bit erratic, but no one reminds me more of Bryant than him. If the Lakers can sell Durant on coming to them in 2016, the prospect of Westbrook coming the following year would grow leaps and bounds, Or the Lakers may have the young talent to offer in a trade to OKC who will be in a rebuild mode if Durant does indeed bolt.

Westbrook is a ballhog. A team with Kevin Durant should not be fighting for the last play off slot. OKCs point guards are the reason.

Well injuries are the reason actually. They started off without Westbrook AND Durant; and Durant has been in and out of the lineup all season actually.

I don't like watching Westbrook play that much honestly. I find him fascinating to watch, but not necessarily enjoyable. He's too out of control. His potential is always overflowing, but only once every few games does it catch fire. If he could find that controlled burn, I'd watch every one of his games.

My favorite player to watch right now is undoubtedly Stephen Curry. He's reached some sort of nirvana with his own game. His ball handling is great, his passing is on point, and he's one of (maybe the) best and most natural shooters I've ever seen.

Yes Curry is right there for me as well, but he will always be a Warrior, so he is the enemy.

Really? I don't have anything against them. At least they're a California team I can appreciate... I still hate the Kings and I will always despise the Clippers.

Liking Westbrook wouldn't happen overnight for me. But if I ended up a huge Karl Malone the Laker, I won't rule anything out...except Bron, F him! My problem is Westbrook thinks he's a #1, I don't think he is on a championship team. The difference between Durant and Westbrook from Kobe and Shaq was that the latter were winning championships together. If OKC can't win together, I can't image Westbrook winning on his own. I respect his passion and fire, but his shots and their volume is not in the team's best interest. Like you said, if he could reign that in then he'd be a baaaad maaan. But he's 26 and I haven't seen much progress in that department. I think two guys could get through to him -- Pop and Kobe. Kobe's already said he doesn't want to be in coaching, he would have to be with Westbrook every day for at least a year...behind the bench during games, with him during practice, in his ear everywhere he goes and I don't see Kobe willing to go to those lengths when he's no longer a player.

I agree on Lillard and that's what makes him my favorite non-Laker right now. He's a killer and is clutch to boot. In an ideal world he slowly but surely grows tired of Portland and wants to see if Hollywood is a better fit.

I just respect the hell out of a guy willing to go 100% all the time. You don't find that many players like that anymore. Most players are content to be good or content to goof off because they're so talented. Westbrook wants to kill you on the court and that's respectable. That's a warrior. Is he some kind of all-time great? No way. He doesn't have the head for it, but dammit if I don't respect his fire.

Lillard... I think I won't hold my breath. I read an interview that said he was way more interested in building a bad franchise on his back. I think he went to a small school for the same reason. I'd love to have him though. He's the best 4th quarter player in the NBA right now.

For the Warriors to find a way to keep Green, they'll have to move David Lee and the $15 million owed him in the 2015-16 season. Ownership has instructed management in Golden State that it doesn't need to find a deal for Lee before the trade deadline, because the organization simply doesn't want to upset the balance and chemistry of a championship contender.

Nevertheless, there are teams with interest in working deals for Lee that would include them receiving assets – primarily draft considerations – for taking on his salary and those could be options for Golden State before the deadline on Thursday, league sources said.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/source...arring-blockbuster-trade-offer-195235888.html

I mentioned Lee earlier in this thread; not that I see them as a long term option with Randle being around because that is not the case. Lee will be an expiring contract heading into the offseason and will give Randle a chance to learn by coming off the bench and being developed slowly. The key here is the highlighted. If we do take on his salary, which would probably be during the summer, we could grab a 1st from GS (probably their pick) and a 2nd rounder.

We did the same thing with the Lin deal; almost identical. Take on salary for an expiring K and get draft picks for the future. Are the picks great? Nope. You could still find talent that late in the draft or you include it in a deal later on the down the line. As it stands right now, the Houston pick will probably go in the mid 20's and we might end up keeping that 'highly' protected 2nd rounder that's at 53 currently.

Your point about his knees and just the normal wear and tear of his body is exactly why I agree with you that we should stay clear of him

And this is like the first season he's stayed healthy. Wonder if he's changed something conditioning wise or if his ankle(s) have finally healed 100%

He wears bulky, solid braces on his ankles now. He also plays way, way more under control than he did when he first got here. Add that to his body simply maturing a little, defenses having to stay away from players, and yeah he's a star now. Fun to watch that kid when he gets going.

He's just trying to draw attention to himself, but Broussard was on His/Hers (why is this even a show?) and said he could definitely see Westbrook and perhaps Love in a Lakers uniform in 2-3 years.

Durant says he liked the Lakers old school unis.

Hey, we can have as many throwback nights as you want KD. ;)
