    Bumping this.

All it took was one game to remind me how stupid the refs are and how much control they have over the game. Practically ended the game for us at the start of the second quarter.

Yep. Refs for sure took us out of the game in the 1st half with all those FT's.

Here's my full list of WMC:

    1. Randle - he finished OK but he still cannot shoot from outside. This is going to be absolutely critical for him going forward and maybe Lopez being in the starting 5 could help with the spacing for Randle.

    2. Nance - looked very unimpressive overall. Thought I'd see an improved jump shot or just more from him overall....neither happened.

    3. Ingram - came out very aggressive and has a nice flow to his game and then he just dropped off. I think we need to temper our expectations with Ingram...he's nowhere close to averaging 20ppg yet.

    4. KCP - what a terrible debut for him. Had some good moments defensively but offensively, he was horrible and missed multiple wide open 3s. If we're going to have any success this year...KCP will need to be a threat from deep.

    5. Luke - I get that its preseason..but not working with the guys on offense at all and it certainly showed. He also made some questionable moves early in the game with his rotations but ill give him a pass since its game 1 of preseason.

    6. Shabazz Muhammad - wtf....why did he look like dwyane wade out there? So frustrating seeing our team get obliterated by him.

    7. Too many lobs - i think I saw like 8 lobs and all of them looked the same. Can't have that happen!

I agree, the refs were bad. But good D ain't reaching either. Its preseason, but with their starters out, the Wolves were at 100 with like 10 mins left in the game.

Zo got gassed and our PG rotation is shallow as hell. Lakers might have to look to Dec. 15th when more of our players open up for trade to really round out the roster, otherwise its going to be a loooooong season for Zo.

Zu redeemed himself and keep at it young bull.

Let the 3 be....I hope they leave it alone for the regular season. I don't want D'antoni redux. That being said, most of those 3s were open and its either nerves or them being gassed that led to brick city. So I'm good with those, but some were just walking into our half court set and launching. No bueno!

BI brought a tear to my eye. Disappointed, but its 1 game and the true test is how he rebounds from this.

Scared to death that the way Kuz and BI play can lead to a major injury. Love the effort, but you can't play reckless.

Which brings me to Kyle MFing Kuzma. Kids got stones and doesn't shy away from the spotlight. I predict he supplants Clarkson as our 6th man and maybe gets into that 4th quarter rotation when the games are on the line. My WMC are his minutes...he needs more!

Bad night for Nike....couldn't contain that rock hard Ennis.

Refs. Took over the first half. We didn’t play good D, but they sure didn’t help. For the game it was 17 free throws for us, 35 for them. Imagine if Ingram got the calls that Shabazz Muhammad gets.

    :Crazyartest:

Our players literally had to be taken down to the ground to get a call, and we couldn’t breathe on Butler, Wiggins, or Muhammad.

for a team that's eaten, breathed, and slept defense for the past week, they looked terrible. pair that with zero half court offense practice and you get a team that looked eerily reminiscent of a byron scott lakers squad. right down to the awkward and ill-fated isos that the other team seemed to welcome.

as some of us worried in july, the lack of shooters are going to be a HUGE problem this year. not having lopez hurt a bit there, but he's our center. minny just packed the paint shamelessly and weren't scared enough of any laker player to double.

speaking of: wiggins ate ingram's lunch on both ends, which was disheartening. didn't respect ingram's shot enough to allow ingram to get a step, so he cut off every drive attempt easily. on the other end, he got a step with no problem, then overpowered ingram at will.

ball's individual matchup with teague didn't go much better, honestly.

randle vs KAT must have been punishment of some sort, lol. though he competed on defense in the 1 on 1 matchup, which is better than the others did.

all in all, that game was hopefully at the lowest end of what we'll see. i do think that the shooting issues and the fact that nobody is scared of our pgs getting to the rim will really hamper the half court offense all year. and the d...i'm afraid.

Kuzma looks great, Zubac is finally in shape and it shows. Those are the positives. But man, our guys can't shoot at all and we have no offense to speak of. If Zo does not make it happen, then it's a complete disaster and low IQ plays all over the place. Ouch.

Honestly this game looked like everything everyone thought could be wrong with the team all displayed at once.

I would welcome being less right about a lot of things like our defense, shooting, Randle and Clarkson, etc.

Silver lining is it’s our first preseason game and we’re bound to play better.

I didn't get to watch, but sounds like what I might expect for a game 4 days into camp after 2 a day sessions with pretty much zero offense lol. It's a throw away game. Glorified pick up ball.

First year with such a short preseason, and it will affect young teams the most. I think we're seeing that.

Hope the reviews next game are a little more glowing, and each game after that.

You know who needs more blame? Luke. He spent all week drilling defense and running into these guys and they were efficient at neither. Meanwhile they had absolutely zero half-court offense and so looked out of sorts on that end.

These guys weren't prepared enough and that became evident after an energetic 1st quarter. Once Minnesota took control of the tempo, there was nothing left for us to do. Lonzo was neutered which left Ingram and Randle to go out there and try to force half-court offense inefficiently. Not good.

Our offensive playbook was already poor last season , I agree Luke should be way more criticized than he has been so far .

I want to stay postitive but I feel it will be another season I'll stop watching full games in December
