Paul George is coming to the Lakers next year. Anyone else? Don't really much care. Lonzo, George and BI would be a great core in a few years.

Also going back to the Melo deal, the Knicks got pennies back on the dollar...so that makes me think that Presti knows Melo is one and done and didn't want to give up anything too significant. No 1st round picks given up for both PG and Melo. Yeah, I'm slightly worried that this could harm our 2018 shopping list, but my gut is telling me, Presti's hand reveals just how much he believes this trio will last past this next season. Also lets not forget the Russ mega deal with Jordan brand...Russ not signing his Thunder extension will be the elephant in the room and deter from the excitement once OKC's training camp starts next week. Oct. 16th is the deadline for Russ to sign his Thunder extension. Maybe he doesn't mind sacrificing money by leaving OKC since that Jordan brand deal more than makes up for his losses. Either way there will be a massive cloud hanging over the Thunder this entire season.

Going back to Wade, what yall think the over/under is on the West adding yet another star player?

If he's smart, Wade would go to OKC. OKC need a 2 guard.

Hummm.. curious that Wade wanted out right now so much that he'd give up 8 mil for a buyout. He has to have a serious plan of where he wants to go in mind, and would have had to have assurances from he destination team that he's going to (which is tampering unless the Bulls gave the destination team the go ahead to talk to Wade even though they weren't trading him).

Can't see Paul George leaving both Westbrook and Melo.

    Not good news for us.

It's not the Lakers so it's not tampering. It's not big market getting over the little guy unless it's the Lakers. You should know this.

Depends how they gel. They are all free agents next year.

I don't think for someone like PG who said he wants to be a MVP a situation where is clearly second and sometimes 3rd fiddle guy is a really satisfying situation for me than one season. I mean he is not 32 or something, still starting his real prime. I am not too worried about this.

Melo won't be that healthy a whole season

I do know this, but I'm bitter and need to point out how often this so called "tampering" goes on

We need a big time player bad, everyone else is snatching them up left and right.

Our plan is next year though. Let's see what we have with the kids working hard this year and developing, and then at the trade deadline or in free agency next year we make our moves.

Haven't seen this posted yet...but if "sources" is to be believed, its really interesting that the Lakers are trying to get in on the Wade sweepstakes. Makes Clarkson more dispensable and of course there's that LaBron thing too. Based off of what his current options are, we can offer him the most money at 4.3M with our room exception. But how would we place him in the starting unit (reported as one of his demands) with KCP already there. Maybe that's the sticking point. Plus there's that roster spot to work out as well...maybe Bryant converted to a 2 way contract, Blue or Caruso as the 2nd 2 way contract and one of them gets waived to make room for Wade at the 15th and final roster spot.

I personally don’t see a 34 year old Melo (by the end of this season) making George stay long-term. He’s going to stay 4 or 5 years to play with Westbrook, sure, absolutely possible, but a 34, 35, 36, 37 year old Melo? That’s a reach for me. I doubt Wade is a big factor in anyone staying wherever he ends up either. He will be 36 mid-season, and he simply isn’t the same player anymore.

D Wade would still be an elite 6th man. I mean look how old Jamal Crawford is and he's putting up great numbers with limited mins as a 6th man. Keeping Wade with restricted mins means he'll be fresh which means he'll be healthy which finally means good productive efficiency. I'd take him in a heart beat!

Oh, I would take him, I just don’t see how him joining Cleveland or something would be a big deal or get LeBron to stay. OKC? Sure, he could be super useful there. I’m not knocking Wade, only saying he isn’t what he was, he’s not being anyone’s sidekick on a title run anymore.

Has anyone told him that? Because I don't think he's accepted that based on his Chicago teammate comments last year.

OKC becoming a candidate to go into the late playoffs isn't a good sign for us. Nothing is guaranteed, we've been burned in these FA situations before.

it's why cap space plans tend to be bad plans. too many things can happen between the clearing of the decks and the signing of the contracts. again, it's why i was pissed when the lakers didn't trade for george on draft night. i've seen too many of these gambits fail, and not just for the lakers. there's been very few teams who cleared the decks and then had things fall in place as they planned. miami...and miami?
