I like it. The classic Kobe fall back jumper. Probably from deep. What's going on though down at the bottom where his feet are?

A few demands. While the back of his jersey should stay 24, the front of the jersey should be 8. There should be some bandages or finger sleeves on his hands and a few scratches and "battle scars" throughout his body. At the base of the statue around his feet, there should be the likeness of a black mamba striking out. Make those changes and the statue lives up to the man's legend.

Damn I miss young Kobe. A lot of players have his athleticism but few combined it with his skill, creativity, flare, and determination. He was so fun to watch.

I hate this. :Fishwink: I agree with LeBron on the outlet pass from Horry and Kobe behind the back and 360 reverse jam.

And then LOL as the freeze frame of Kobe came up after Curry talking about the 81 point game, like it was part of the edit, some random computer thing happened and this classic Van Morrison song started playing. I sat there listening and looking at Kobe and thinking how cool to come up with that until I realized after awhile maybe iTunes had been launched or something else happened. Great tribute though and Pop was of course Pop but with his respect, plus the cool accident at the end. :Crazyartest:

Garnett should have mentioned that baseline glide behind the backboard, windmill slam on the other side and then falling on his kiester in the playoffs against his Wolves in '04. So vicious 24 tweaked his shoulder doing it.

Mirrors my thoughts exactly. I value dedication to one's craft above everything else. Success is often out of one's control, there are way too many random parameters for me to measure 1 player against another based on that.

Dedication, hard work, personal responsibility are solely in one's control and Kobe had and probably won't have any rivals there.

Had Kobe won those 2 Finals losses, the discussion would be more palpable. It is hard to compare the two anyways since Kobe came to a ready made title team where Jordan was the man from day one. Kobe got hosed out of 2 or 3 MVP's which really put a dent in the individual side of things.

However, if Kobe had won in 04 and 08(Favorite in both), his resume becomes incredibly highlighted. He would have gone 7-0 in title series. Likely would have won at least one of those Finals MVP's. Would have beaten the C Bags twice, 3 peated twice, won 4 titles in 5 years. It's crazy how those two losses change so many things even though Kobe is the same player with or without those losses. But in terms of accomplishments, it's a dent.

There is a lot of justified anger when you say that it's not good to lose in the Finals. That it is better not to make it. I agree. I think those title series or games are worse for the resume.

Can someone please remind me of what the initial event was that caused Jason Whitlock to be an unabashed seething Kobe detractor ? I've been in the fandom for a long time (since the 80's) and this original catalyst event escapes me.
