Just to be clear, Clinton signed the legislation that led to the crash in 2008. Bush did nothing about the crisis as it mounted and then popped. But both Bush and Obama's "bailouts" should be credited for the turnaround in 2009/10.

"Fire and fury". We picked a hell of a level-headed, even-tempered president to deal with possibly nuclear war with North Korea.

So apparently Trump thinks being president is like hosting the Apprentice. Every week someone is going to get fired. Do what he says or you're fired. Get Obamacare repealed and replaced or your fired! Doesn't matter how democracy works, just get it done. I'm sorry, when was the job of president to be a dictator? Also not thrilled to be living with the threat of nuclear apocalypse every day, as this moron threatens North Korea daily, seemingly without concern for what he should and shouldn't say. Saying words doesn't make you look powerful.

So Trump can denounce Black Lives Matter, but he can't speak out against the KKK and White Nationalists?

I think it's fair to say that he can say more, but he has spoken out.

I applaud the people who are searching through the videos and pictures, trying to identify those people in the rally in order to expose them more. Freedom of speech is one thing, but anyone with the temerity to wear Hitler's speeches, proudly wave a Nazi flag, and to then try to connect that to our nation... that person deserves any negativity coming their way. They deserve to be exposed, dragged through the mud, and then spit out in a different country. Just horrible, awful human beings.

For what it's worth: sometimes the narrative becomes the truth and I think that's happened here. Whether or not Trump himself is a racist, whether or not he's a sexist, whether or not he's a bigot, there's enough people who believe it to be true that it's become a reality. I believe he is in some ways all of those things, although not to the extent that some do, but just the mere fact that so many believe it to be true has made it a reality. These racists think Trump supports them and their views which spreads hatred in a way that is truly abominable. I'm not in favor of impeaching Trump on the grounds of "he's a piece of ****", but I now fully believe he should be removed from office on moral grounds. Whether fair or not, Trump has inspired hatred from every side and that's not the kind of world we need to live in. Yes I said every side and yes some sides are far, far worse than others, but there's hatred everywhere now. Maybe it was always there and Trump just brought it to light, but it's there now and it's just incredibly difficult to watch this nation devolve into the past. Nuclear war? KKK rallies? Race relations hitting their lowest point in decades? This is all backwards and while we desperately need to fix our economic situation, it's not worth the souls of our nation.

Trump: "Someone driving a car in a crowd is not terrorism"

Response: "HOW DARE HE NOT CONDEMN THESE RACIST, TRUMP IS A RACIST"

Trump: "Racism is evil, I denounce the KKK"

Response: "He is just saying that to save face, TRUMP IS A RACIST"

So, when the children out there grow up, come back and talk to the adults. Apparently it's trump's fault some d*** face decided to run over people like it was Obama's fault that some Muslim in Beirut bombed a daycare.

This whole fiasco is one giant circle of solar powered dildo's in death valley. It will never stop, ever. One giant child going after the other giant child. Christ, grow the f*** up.

    Yeah, that explains it perfectly...

You aren't born with hate, you're taught it. If everyone just sits around thinking everything's okay, "it will never stop", then sure, it won't stop.

"Growing up" means you learn from those mistakes and you teach your future generations the difference between right and wrong. Privilege and group think that "everything is fine" is exactly the reason why our country has set itself back.

But if solar powered dildo's in death valley is the dystopian Trump future you live in, by all means.

My FaceBook feed is full of people condemning Trump for not calling out racism sooner.

These are the same people that didn't utter a peep when Obama failed to condemn Radical Islam time and time again and appeared to side with those destroying Ferguson and Baltimore for weeks.

I wish the Alt Left and Alt Right would just go away forever. Leave the problems in this country to those of us who are willing to listen and work toward fixing things.

You can call it Radical Islam all you want, but Muslims don't call those terrorists Islamic either. They are just Terrorists. We can call the KKK and White Nationalists Radical Christians, but why don't we?

Additionally, there is a difference between Black Lives Matter and the idiots/thugs who go about trashing cities claiming to be part of BLM, but they are not. They are just criminals. Obama sided with BLM because of the movement and denounced the violence and crime that came with it.

    http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-brief...lames-criminals-and-thugs-for-baltimore-riots

But I agree, the extreme left and right wings of the country are causing issues that this country doesn't need to deal with. We have bigger problems than the ones they fight for.

Take care of yourself and your families if you have them. Stop worrying about this crap. It's all a scam to keep you in fear and in control. That's all it is.

This country has hated every President as long as I've been a grown adult. If America had elected Mother Teresa, half the country would have called her Satan. People are a messed up bag of nuts.

I'm not going to lie, I don't pay attention to this stuff much anymore. My wife and I are unable to have kids, so as bad as this sounds, i just hope the country can manage to hold itself together for another 50 years until I'm gone. Its gonna go to hell, soon. One thing about not having kids is I don't have to live with the fear of them growing up here.

That's easy for some people to say.

But when people's rights are at stake (LBGT, Women's), healthcare, it is something they have to worry about.

I don't have to worry about that because I don't fall into any of those categories. I have a good job, I have good healthcare, I pay taxes. But why do I care? Because I do.

As an American, I want all my fellow citizens to have equal rights and access to sufficient care and protection, without prejudice. I want the governent to stop allowing the rich to get richer with tax breaks and loopholes, all taxable income that could be used for say, a better healthcare system. I want the government to revise the military budget in a way that affords these types of equalities, which is not hard because the US budget is still greater than the military budget of the next six nations COMBINED.

This is why I, and many others, simply choose to never stay silent. If in history the people stayed silent, there would still be segregation, women would still not be able to vote. The very team we came on this forum to love and discuss would be nonexistent.

Trump press conference today was pathetic. Media screaming questions at Trump, Trump screaming back. It's not even like a president answering questions, it's like a man accused of a crime yelling back and forth with media, it's such an embarrassing look for the country. I also get that Washington and Jefferson were slave owners, but his equating taking down statues of Robert E Lee and Stonewall Jackson with taking down their statues was pretty silly to me. Those men lived in a certain culture that was wrong of course, but they did help found the country, where those other men fought a war to keep slavery alive. Washington and Jefferson may not be great symbols of our country for some people, but I would hope Lee would not be a great symbol for anyone.

I think I get what Trump was saying also (I guess), that there were "peaceful" protesters on the side of not wanting to take the statue down, and violent people on the other side, that protesting doesn't warrant violence no matter the cause, but his overall statements came across horribly. He's being looked at as not fully condemning white supremacy and I can easily see why. And his constant calling out of "fake news" and "facts" during this whole exchange were so childish. I literally cannot believe this man is our president every time I see him speak. And all this came after what was an announcement about new infrastructure speeding up permitting to build, which seemed like a good thing to me, but was immdiately forgotten because of how he handles himself in other areas.

To your point about Robert E Lee, I would like to add that he and the other confederates literally took up arms against the United States. They are traitors.

It astounds me how anyone in this country can celebrate that as being part of their "heritage". And this isn't the same as us rebelling against the British and declaring our independence.

I know of several statues of a man who was against gay marriage. Some cities even have streets named after him. He was a Republican, but a lot of people like him and he's actually popular. Should we take them down?

Personally, I don't care about statues (for or against). I'm just wondering why one side gets to pick which ones go and which ones stay, as if taking them down will erase the history.

And it's very silly to hear Trump compare that traitor to Washington and Jefferson when he goes around firing anyone that doesn't agree with him or do what he says today. Imagine if one of his generals today decided to go to war against him. The reality is Trump is an unhinged moron, and clearly his own camp can't even stop him from going in front of a microphone and saying whatever he feels like.
