3 - 2. Got a semi-easy game coming up vs the Rams and then we've got Denver. Would be nice to enter the bye week at 5-2, but I'm not sure our defense can slow down Manning. Who is the most dynamic and frustrating player in the league? Kaepernick by a mile. I blame part of it on our O line and part on Greg Roman, but I feel he should be more productive with our running game and receivers.
I would go ahead and say they are the most frustrating team in the league! Great defensive numbers so far with 4 of our starters out. But then you look at how many special teams points we have allowed and how our offense has looked nothing like it should with all the weapons we acquired this offseason (Roman definitely should be on the hotseat) Then there are the distractions of the summer and Coach's unresolved contract to add into the mix. We could be great, but so far are ho-hum and if not for key moments from our defense, could be in a whole lot of trouble. Once again, I have a whole lot invested in this team since I know its going to be yet another long season in Lakerland.
Nice record. Only one loss. Who did they lose to? Kaps TD to Boldin -- no one else in the NFL can make that play.
Looks like you guys are staying in house. Hiring Tomsula for HC. I admit I have never heard his name before today.
I'm not excited about the hiring, but everyone within the 49ers (ownership, other coaches, and the players absolutely RAVE about him). We'll see..... Rumors are that Trestman is being hired for the OC job. OMG! If that's the case, I'm locking this thread for 2 - 3 years.
Also, the Niners let every assistant coach go except for Tom Rathman. Running joke is, Rathman was fired too, but no one has the guts to tell him. LOL
Agreed... His own players at $C were undisciplined, entitled and were not held accountable. Niner management could do so much better. Very apparent, Kiffin is using his [cough] success at Alabama as a springboard to a more glamorous gig. Oh...and let's not forget his Tennessee debacle.
Can't ignore the similarities between Jed and Jimmy and how they are trying to cease control within each respective organization...we all know how the Lakers have fared so far and I'm afraid the 9ers aren't going to fare any different. I like Tomsula, but the way they did Harbaugh is no different than the way Jimmy did Phil and frankly I got no confidence going forward.
This, all day. Do I like Tomsula? I don't dislike him. Would he have been in my top 50 choices? I doubt it. I just have a hard time letting a guy go that took a 6-10 team to 3 straight NFC title games and 1 SB.
