    Amazing job by Maginka. The patience exhibited by the FO during the FA period was awesome unlike the previous morons who ran our team. No 12:01 signings for mediocre talent here. KCP was close to unattainable just weeks ago but Magic and Rob just swooped in at the right time. Now if PG13 won't come we have guys like Lopez and Pope to resign.

    i'm glad about the signing, but i can't get on board with the "this is genius" stuff. any team offers kcp a longer contract, and we would have been totally screwed. it's as much luck as patience and strategy--in fact, the news that kcp's folks called sort of cements that.

    I don't know if it makes them geniuses for waiting, but they did a good job doing it. If they were predicting some of these RFAs would be renounced all along, then that's pretty genius. I wasn't... That being said, if anything it sort of fits more in line with the confidence that Magic has exuded. He's been convinced all along that the Lakers were going to turn around, these kids were going to do their thing, they were going to change the culture, and players were going to want to play here. So far so good on those fronts.

    my point is that mitch and co did the same thing a couple years ago, but no kcps happened. if they did, i think we would have gotten them.
