Did ya forget BI got the balling rolling as a player in the NBA when Luke had him take the ball up. Let Ingram bring the ball up(With more tempo its not as crucial to be a pure PG) for 10 min and put in Caruso for 4 minutes and a a couple hard fouls lol.

No.. I think Caruso can play for 10 min. With his length and hustle i think hed be fine. Seems like he's playing with a lot of confidence right now.

He could surely D up better than Marcelo.

No idea. Will defer to "Carsuso" and Ennis watchers. Whom would you trust more trying to be adequate against 2nd stringers in the NBA with defense and handles and shooting? Do you want a new Poll?

Lol oh god no. Id have to give the edge to Caruso on D though Ennis has a lil more side to speed probably. Im a big fan of length for D, i think youre automatically better than if you wouldve been shorter lol.

Caruso is playing with fire and nothing to lose. And hell be facing a backup PG youd think as well. Id give him a shot. Good juju going on here.

Magic said last night during the summer league telecast that they're leaning towards a veteran backup PG. I have no clue who that could be.

Zo would definitely benefit from a veteran presence. You don't want the bright lights of LA taking these impressionable kids down the wrong path. There's hardly any veteran PG left on the open market, so I would rather look to a smaller trade.

Take Brewer's expiring 7.5M contract and flip it to the Mavs for Devin Harris's 4.4M expiring deal. We got a glut at the 2 position with KCP, Clarkson and Hart already and we definitely want to try to develop Hart and give KCP his shine so that he possibly chooses us to extend with if he plays well for us this year. Brewer is honestly overkill at that position. Meanwhile, DHarris is a solid vet for Zo and in his heyday he wasn't a slack on the defensive end either. It is so key to make sure Zo can exploit matchups on defense with his length. I'm hoping Zo becomes a solid 2 way player for us from the point position, then you got another 2 way player with KCP at the 2. You bring in PG13 as another 2 way guy at the 3. Hopefully Ingram can develop into one and he takes the 4 spot, with Bron playing that "Dray" role at the 5. Its a small lineup, but it has worked for GW and literally our entire starting lineup would be rangy 2 way players that can all handle the ball and zip passes to the open man on offense. That would be ideal...but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Devin Harris would be good for mentoring Zo for a year. He comes off the books just in time for 2018. Swapping his salary with Brewer's gives us 3M more in cap to distribute to round out the roster and give TB that 1M average starting salary that most 2nd rounders make.

On Dallas's side it frees up more playing time for the glut they have at PG with DSJ, Yogi and Barea. Brewer gives them one more 2 to add to Wes and Seth on the roster. The Mavs are also playing hardball with Nerlens Noel and taking up 3M more of their cap room with this move squeezes Noel to reup before more of Dallas's cap dries up.

Still...if a trade does end up happening, I hope Deng is involved in some manner cause that should be the priority heading into 2018.

Deron Williams might be the only FA that makes sense actually, but he's really not capable of playing much anymore.

Did Deron have one of the shortest big star "primes" ever? :KobeConfused: Injuries or a major career limiting injury? Or just got too FAT to be able to be the old Deron any more?

devin harris would be a nice add and a good vet presence for lonzo. don't know what it would take to get him though

what other "vet" PG's are left? d-will and rose? i mean i guess i wouldn't mind d-will at this point but he was absolutely awful in cleveland

Not sure who Magic-Rob are looking at, but it can't be shoot first last and always Deron Williams. Worse fit than Rondo would have been.

I'm still hoping for Ian Clark. Knows Luke's system. No one is overpaying him apparently. He would get more shine here than playing behind Curry & Livingston.

Someone mentioned Barbosa which makes a little sense, but he's not a point guard really.

I honestly can't think of a veteran who fits what they're trying to do right now. Sessions maybe, but he can't shoot.

I did. I think he can be a combo guard. Maybe give some more ball handling duties to Brandon when Zo sits
