Why would I ever take a bet without odds? Considering its 5-1 just want to make it worth while.

When there's smoke there's fire...Lebron wants to be a Hollywood big shot producer, a pezzonovante in La La Land, and the Lakers is his ticket. Maybe an under the table option to buy Lakers shares. Besides he knows the Laker jersey is better than a Cavs one in the big screen when the time for Space Jam 2 comes. Billion dollar box office worldwide.

by doing what? we dont have cap to absorb any contracts without sending contracts out and there's no room for any team involved that would absorb Deng. I bet the hard part for this trade is finding someone to take on Anderson, I sure as hell dont want to replace deng with Anderson contract.

I like where the team is at. Would still be nice if we could dump Deng + JC, etc to pick up some more shooting.. If not now. I'm sure the Laker's FO will be working all the way up to the trade deadline to figure out how to get rid of Deng's contract.

I think that makes more sense. However, doesn't that change the voting for All-Star game if someone gets traded between conferences at the deadline? Or would they still play for their original conference?

I think trying to deal Deng next summer is too risky. There's a chance teams collude not to help us, even if we're offering picks and young players, just so we can't open 2 spots for max free agents. Plus next summer you can't attach Randle to Deng if you have to in order to dump him. The deadline is probably more likely, but even that is risky. I'd be doing all I could to unload him now unless they're dead set on seeing what Randle will look like this season and he's the only way to get rid of Deng.

Yeah agree it's a lot more risky to wait. That's why they jumped all over Moz and DAR for expiring Lopez now. Plus legit basketball reasons.

How bout Clarkson, Nance, future unprotected 1st (3 years from now ... 2 years?) and Thomas Bryant (keep in G league until they need him)? Now? But hands off my boy Randle?

Very true. How would it look like if we were to stretch Deng next summer, would we still have space for two max FAs? That's a last ditch effort. But yeah, if we aren't keen on keeping Randle next summer, we might as well bundle the two for something.
