I'm actually hoping really hard for Rondo now. :D We need to win, we need vets that aren't gonna go out and lie down and die, I don't like Rondo, but he will play for wins.

Rondo and Pope! We'll be the worst shooting team in the league, but uh, they're name players!

I doubt we get both but possible if we move Clarkson.. Just brewer wont get it done IMO. But liking just hearing something, were exploring opportunities for today and the future.

Also if Rondo and Pope started wed have a great defensive backcourt that would contain their opposing matchups. I just dont get what would happen with Ball. You have Rondo purposely play really physical to almost purposely get quick fouls to put in Lonzo as he gets to learn every day from Rondo?

Not too encouraged that KCP didn't sign a deal....but at least we got some news!

I've warmed up to the idea of Rondo, would be great for our 2nd unit when Lonzo needs a break.

I assumed Rondo would be the backup PG, come in and keep the passing going. Ball is a rookie, I don't see him playing 40 mins a game, plenty of time for Rondo. He's better than any PG left out there.

We could technically use the MLE to bring in Rondo after giving our cap space to Pope. Rondo would be 8 million ish.

whats the difference with or without them, inregards to 3pt shooting that is, Rondo shot it at the same % as Dlo, just not the same volume lol

What's the difference between KCP and Clarkson? Can KCP play D?

Well, you can't play Rondo at SG next to Ball because despite his numbers being similar to Russell's, he still can't shoot. You can't start Rondo at SG next to Ball, too short, can't shoot well enough, but Russ could have started at SG next to Ball, so that's the difference. Pope can start at SG, and we'll have to hope his shooting is improved by the wide open looks Ball hopefully would get him. But these would be 1 year deals, so I take them and run with either one, can't complain at this point.

I don't think I could ever get comfortable with Rondo on the team. I mean look at my avatar!!!
    <------------------

He played for those guys! Plus, Rondo is a horrible shooter.

Jiminy Cricket in a Lakers' uni?! Makes me want to :Kobepuking:

i wouldn't start both Rondo and Ball, but I could definitely see them being effective together at times. Ball would be the SG. With his shooting ability and Rondo's above average (for a PG) off-ball movement, I think they could run a good offense. This is assuming Rondo buys in to the quick passing and doesn't pound the ball.

If it's one or the other then I prefer Pope, but Rondo wouldn't be a bad consolation. If we get both on 1 year deals, then the FO did a tremendous job salvaging an uneventful free agency.

well I meant that without them we're still one of the worse 3pt shooting team, so adding them doesn't make us any worse :)

i know its only % but should do some research instead of just using the same old mantra that rondo can't shoot, I dont know the semantics but he shot 37% from 3's last yr, which is better than Dlo, just a matter of lower volume and only from select areas but that "he can't shoot" stuff is old news

I thought it was fairly obvious/implied that adding them doesn't help our shooting, so we'd be one of the worst shooting teams in the league. If we add them, we aren't adding shooters. So their contracts would finish out the roster, thus leaving us with no shooters. As in if we sign them then we won't be signing players who aren't them, so our shooting remains the same. That's the difference. Is that any clearer?
