The hell happened in there? Typical recovery time is much shorter than that... Are they giving a long estimate to promise low? Jeez.
I dont think his shot as declined. It's his ability to get space that's decline. He simply can not get any separation between the defender. His shots are heavily contested.
maybe this injury is a blessing. Kobe will be back next year very monitored, with 25+ min per game. I'm seeing him as a 21,6,6 type of player.
I doubt Kobe gets to 20-5-5 next year....and I hope his minutes are no more than 32mpg next year... Sadly, I see Kobe going out on the bottom to finish his career...which sucks. He hasn't been able to stay healthy after essentially being an iron man for his entire career...
Yeahi don't expect him to avg more than 21 ppg especially since what he had been doing lately with all the passing I see him more likely having a state line of 15ppg, 8 ast, 6 reb. Now if we get a PG during free agency like Dragic then that changes things because Kobe won't have the ball in his hands as much
I could see Kobe trying to end his career as an Oscar Robertson or a Jason Kidd. I could see him trying to average 15/8/8 or something like that.
I would like for him to do it actually to shut up the critics. To prove that he can evolve his game even more. Averaging 18-9-5 would be awesome...on efficient shooting too. Hopefully we will be reloaded though with Jahil Okafor, Julius Randle, Nick Young, Kobe Bryant and Jordan Clarkson....I don't wanna add anyone in free agency...would rather wait until 2016.
I can't predict Kobe next year without knowing what kind of team we will have around him. I am hoping he only needs to play 25 to 30 minutes and we will bring in a playmaker who can take the load off of him.

More Kobe hate in the L.A. Times this morning killing him and Kupchak for saying Kobe was worth the contract. The editors decide which letters get seen. Like 5 today with only 1 on his side .......sort of.
The contract is what it is, if you think it's a bad one you're entitled to your opinion. I think it's pretty sad and lame of fans to turn on a guy that has given us almost 20 years of entertainment and a lot of winning, more than a lot of entire franchises NEVER see. And given eveything his body has to live up to his contracts, when some stars sit out with a sore finger. That said I think it's obvious from the crowds at Staples center who cheer for Kobe whenever he's on the floor that fans like this are in the minority, thankfully.
I've been tempted to write to the Times to blast them for always printing predominantly anti Kobe letters. Even when he was healthy. The old ball hog, shots too much, selfish crap.
Here is my latest on Kobe and what things should look like for him next year. Above all else I just hope that he can stay healthy for his final season and prove to everyone that he's still got something left. I can't imagine the Lakers without Kobe, it's going to be a sad, sad day when he hangs them up.
yes he can...with 25 field goal attempts a game. Can he be somewhat semi-efficient doing it? I highly doubt it at this point.
There has been a lot negativity as regards Kobe's ability to score efficiently as of late. No doubt he gave us many reasons for that this season. But I cincerely believe that at least to some extent, his terrible FG% this year was due to 1) playing with an injured shoulder and 2) absolutely terrible supporting cast, which again allowed the opposing teams to concentrate the defense on Kobe. Is he at fault too? Of course, he should not take as many difficult shots and try to always be the hero when clearly he's not the Kobe of old and just can't shoot those long jumpers against 3 defenders anymore. Either way, assuming we will have a significantly better team next year (which seems at least very realistic) and the injuries to our best players finally stop, I am pretty sure Kobe will be much more efficient than nowadays. I still have faith in the man.
