I'd take back the 2nd rounders then. Deng/Nance Jr./2020 1st (Top 5 protected) for Quincy Acy.

But maybe the Nets aren't eager to pay both our albatross contracts. :D

carroll had two years, 30 million left on his deal. deng has 3 years 54 million (or more) left on his. it took a first and two seconds to move him, right. just trying to calibrate the market next year, when fewer teams will have space to absorb such a contract...it's going to be costly to move him.

I'm mostly kidding abeer. We already tried to offer an unprotected 1st to move Deng and nobody bit... I think next summer will be slightly easier, but overall I think it takes 2 picks or 1 pick and a prospect and maybe a 2nd or two to move Deng. He's going to be a real thorn. Next summer should be slightly easier to move him though with less time on the deal.

Maybe just Bosh him? That boob job can be a reason he is no longer fit to play

i'm wondering if the FO might start considering this if deng has another injury. if rob's being celebrated for rule-bending, getting deng to admit he's medically retired would be a coup.

of course, we'd get basketball reason-ed again...

I didn't notice any important changes in FA status from yesterday to now, except that Porter is definitely going back to Washington.

Apparently he covers the Lakers through Amico Hoops.com - from Twitter. No idea on the legitimacy.

Still highly doubtful KCP takes a one year deal, unfortunately. I feel like the Lakers best shot would've been a quick signing after he became an UFA. Him waiting appears to be a sign that he's waiting for long-term contract bids from Brooklyn & Atanta after their RFA money isn't tied up anymore.

for all we know, the lakers have a standing one-year 17 million offer for kcp. it's just not in the press.

If Nets are out of the KCP market, I think there is a good chance he takes a 1 year deal. He isn't going to get 20+ a year on a long term contract at this point. Since he became a unrestricted FA so late its best he just takes the highest 1 year offer and hold off until next year.

I would be shocked if that's not the case. I think they're waiting to see if the Nets blow out with a 100 million dollar deal, but the longer this goes on I believe the Lakers have a better shot. Why hasn't he already gotten the big offer? Some of that is the Porter situation but that's been resolved I think yesterday? News should be coming soon.

Considering the last fiasco with home grown Dwight .... ATL might not just jump at forking over a $100mm/4 yr deal

If we signed KCP, I wouldn't count on him much offensively; he's not a liability, but he isn't very efficient.

However, defensively, he can make a big difference amd take on the tougher defensive assignments.

We'll see. I'm not holding my breath but something interesting is happening when he hasn't been thrown a big deal yet. I don't think he makes or breaks things for us, but would be a good deal.

I'm also curious if Atlanta spends the money on him. I know he's more of a 2 way player than Hardaway, but he's also looking for even more money. I'm just not sure they throw the cash at him at this point.
