I wondered that Bogdonvic going to Indy, I know he can only play the 3 but he shoots 40%+ from 3, his deal is only guranteed for $1mill for the 2nd season, I can't imagine Rob/Magic not being a lil bit crafty enough to think of deals like that, same for that Milos guy, clipps gave him 12mill for 2 yrs, we could do done 12mill for 1 yr with some partial gurantee for 2 yr. Oh well guess crawford is coming, at least hopefully lol

Agents are not that dumb..they know the deal for next year and chances we pick up their option next year simply arent good.

PREACH. this is at least the third or fourth guy that i had suggested we sign (prior to them signing elsewhere) that signed for low money, low years. if it's about one year, i'm super disappointed in the creativity and resolve of the FO.

so you make the first year worth more cash. do you take one year, 9 million or 2 years, 12 million? we could at least attempt.

or we could keep playing footsie with guys who are terrible fits for our roster and future plans.

what the FO is doing right now only makes sense if your plan is to tank. which is crazy when you absolutely don't own your pick.

I'm sure we've offered this, but its still essentially a 1 year deal and the player and his agent know this so the 1+1 (Team option) wouldn't necessary work in the player's eyes who are looking for deal for longer than 1 year.

It is now July 7, 2067, the Lakers still have nothing imminent brewing. Weighing options. Want to be players in 2099 free agency. No long term deals.

Ok, but like just for an example, Mack and Teodosic, 2 years 13 mil with team option 2nd year is better than 2 years 12 million? With Bogdanovic, 15 mil or something one year isn't better than 2 years 21 mil? That 2nd year really matters THAT much when the cap is going to go up again next season?

I don't understand this stance. They've been offering that 1/17 million to all kinds of shooters. You make it sound like they're only talking to Rondo when it's been reported repeatedly that Rondo is talking to them. They reached out or showed interest now in Korver (shooter), Iguodala (defender), Waiters (shooter), George (shooter and defender), and Crawford (as much of a shooter as Caldwell-Pope.

Is Shelvin Mack that much better than Tyler Ennis when it's all said and done? Is Mack worth 9 million dollars? What if we can get Ennis for half that?

I think these lower end guys want that security and from the Lakers' perspective the difference between the guys getting 2 years compared to what's left for one year must not be that great. There's still a couple interesting names and really I'm not interested in Mack for a high cost anyway. I was interested in Teodosic, but I believe having a guy over there who he was familiar with helped the Clippers' cause.

i've already named the specific players (again, prior to those guys signing) that they could have gotten. so they made gestures at guys they knew they wouldn't get? golf clap. and waiters was a bad fit, like all of the other ball-pounding combo guards they're talking to.

yes. who cares about dollar amount if it's a one-year deal? mack is better than ennis. neither is likely to be a laker in a year.

but again, the lakers could have offered the same amount of guaranteed money in one year for teodosic, bogdanovic, patterson, mack, etc.

Move JC, Deng, or Randle, and give a nice sign balloon payment to KCP? I'm down.
