right, but you'd think they could have read the market and adjusted expectations, right?

What I've read is that most didn't and a lot of agents and players are frustrated by how slow this process has been and how much money they've lost. Remember Hill gave up a ton of money too when the Jazz offered him a big extension earlier this year. I don't think many anticipated the market being this slow.

No one can shoot in Staples or in a Lakers uniform. It's a curse.

Therefore, we refuse to sign anybody that has the reputation of a "shooter".

    I can see that.

Are the Lakers stuck on 17 mil in cap at the moment? Or can they get it higher?

Looking into KCP a little more and he's not the smartest cat. He has really shaky shot selection and tends to try to do too much, but he's a fiery guy and isn't afraid to hit the big shot. I think he'd make a great 1-year contract, but I'm also not dying if we lost him to a 4/450 million dollar deal.

I think more than anything else he'd bring some really solid defensive work. KCP isn't a great shooter anyway, but he can be a solid defender for sure.

Pretty much stuck there. They could waive Deng and gain an extra 11ish million. They could try to dump Brewer and get about 7-8 million. They could try to move Clarkson and get 12 million freed up.

Streaky shooters coming to LA basically means Ramon Sessions. If you are an outstanding shooter, you become average. If you are Kyle Korver type, you go from 42% from 3 to 37%. I've seen it so many times. I think the best shooter I ever saw in a Laker uniform was Mike Penberthy. Unfortunately you have players playing defense on you in the NBA so he had issues with that.

I don't really get why you're so eager to dump Brewer, I love what he brought to this team last season.
