Clarkson is more of a scoring/combo guard than a true PG. That's always been his calling card.

I don't mind it, and he's making better decisions on his passes. The key for him is going to be control.

Unfortunately immediately following the meeting Clarkson reported a pinched nerve and no feeling in his left leg. No explanation for it and staff is uncertain how to treat. Nash spotted leaving with large smile.

I know this is a lot of ifs, but IF he develops into an impact player next year, Randle is healthy, and the Lakers get a top 5 pick this team will look MUCH
more intriguing for a FA. The rebuild can happen much faster. So far he looks pretty good. I hope he takes this summer very serious and works hard.

definitely getting his bearings. still don't see any pg instincts (he doesn't see the floor), but he can make tough passes once he recognizes. the makings of a good bench combo guard. i'll take it.

Don't forget that we still have other draft picks this year too and the way we've been finding talent has been great.

JC is more of a scorer than a play maker, not saying that he can't be a play maker but that's going to take some work and hopefully Nash teaches him something. Right now he needs to learn to be more in control.

Has Nash even talked to anyone on the team since he was injured? I wouldn't expect him to do anything for anyone on this team which is sickening since we've treated him better than any player in his situation should expect.

I like JC but he doesn't have any pg instincts at all that I've seen. He's a true sg through and through in a combo guard's body. He doesnt create, or even look to create anything a normal pg with pg skills would.

I think he will be a very good back SG or a decent starting SG one day IF he works hard

Yeah; he just started mentoring Clarkson, apparently.

For real? Now? Why, did something else break on him where he can't even swing a golf club now and is bored? Chump. Better late than never..... guess we shouldn't look a gift trojan horse in the mouth. But seriously a lot of time left in the season if Nash does it at least semi-consistently. He could show Jordan ambidextrous ball handling and passing drills he's never even dreamed of before. That would be excellent.

Or maybe Steve knows he only has to do it for a few weeks until the trade deadline when we ship the remainder of his sorry a** deal to another team hopefully to get some kind of value for it.

    I'll play devil's advocate.

Sure, he's being paid by us, but last I checked, he's not a coach. He's a player who can't play. He's not obligated to mentor anybody.

Steve is most likely retiring from basketball after this season is over. That means no more big checks in the mail. That's a huge adjustment. A smart person like Steve is going to make the arrangements he needs to make before the checks stop coming. Not after. With all the money he's made over his career, it's going to take a lot of planning to figure what to do with it all.

Sure, but while you're under contract to be a player, it'd be super terrific if he came by and pretended like he was on the team once in a while. Setting yourself up for retirement is well and good, but guess what? He's got decades to do that.

Right now he's being paid 9.7 million dollars to not only not play, but to have almost no interaction with the team at all. That's crap. That's total crap. I will never stop resenting him for the way he's carried himself through the end of his career. I know it's hard, I know it's the end of a way of life, but handle it with the type of class that EVERYONE says you're full of Nash. He was held on a pedestal as one of the most professional players in the NBA and he's acted more like Bynum than like Gasol.

Trodgers posted something about Clarkson averaging 14.8 as a starter and if he keeps it up he could finish in the top 3 or 5 in rookie scoring.

If he keeps starting, Clarkson all-rookie 1st team?

Bleep all of them with stupid last 2 changes. This above, and last couple of years it no longer being the Rookie All Star Game. Had to screw that up an make it Rooks vs. Sophomores. The Rookies already learned they were supposed to not try at all on defense, PATHETICALLY, and now the Sophs had to play the same way. Now the whole effing world's rookies will play that way. Why don't they watch the main game and see that at least in the second half, and "sometimes" even in the first half because of pride and all that is sacred about being a superstar alphadog, like Kobe and LeBron getting after it, Michael and Kobe getting after it, that that is far more compelling. Unlike, as well, the joke Chinese "All Stars" standing with their thumps up their bleeps letting Beasley bend them over for 58 or whatever points doing uncontested shots. Surprised no one had enough pride to "martial art" him in the air just once, rather than give him uncontested freaking lay ups, to put a stop to it. Look what D. Wade did to Kobe because he thought Kobe was chasing MVP a little too much. And Kobe "got it." At least he said he "got it".

Can we just go back to the rookie vs sophomore game instead of all this unneeded theatrics.
