There are some excellent bigs left. The 1-2-3 pool is pretty weak.

They have a ton of mid-tier assets. Crowder, Bradley, Smart, even Olynyk or something. They've got picks that aren't lottery picks. They had all the right options to make a deal and didn't do it. They didn't go all in. Either Ainge is incompetent or he was afraid of losing assets for Paul George to walk in the summer. Probably a bit of both.
I'm never mad a guy for betting on himself. If CP thinks he can hold up, that's on him. I don't doubt for a second that Morey will jettison Paul in the summer if he breaks down. Even if he does, Morey gave the Clippers the sort of deal I would have offered for Paul George: assets, but not the ones that I'm betting on going forward.
I was very appreciative of Mitch's integrity. I never doubt for a moment that his head and heart are in the right place. This is how the NBA is though now and yes it sucks, but it's time we get with the program. I think we're with it now with Magic and Rob.
So confident that some reporters have said other teams are suspicious. If Paul George signs here, I bet Gilbert and Cuban cry about it again.
I agree with that and for what it's worth, our franchise has been called a bad franchise by national media people. I just think holding the sins of the past regime to this one are a bit unfair. I think it's a natural comparison, but reading between the lines they're not going to make the same mistakes. If something changes where the Lakers seem more active to go get someone or even start approaching OKC offering Ingram or something, then I think something behind the scenes changed and we needed to make our move now. As it is, they're still standing pat which tells me they believe they've got something in the bag.

Now if next summer rolls around and Paul George is in OKC or San Antonio or something, then I'm going to crucify Magic and Rob because their confidence will have been built on the same foundation Mitch was fired for. For now though... I've got no reason to panic. Yes this season is going to be rough, but we just went through a regime change. Things need to get set in place right now. We've got the young players we want, we've got the coach we want, our practice facility is being finished, etc. We're on the right track for now. I think losing out on Paul George this summer has soured people, but we're in a better place right now than we were a year ago.

if they could play barnes, they can play Nick. Barnes shtick as a defender is greatly exaggerated, we all know he wasn't very good the yrs we had him here, he's just "dirty" guy in general and his shot has been missing even more. I think the goal here for their bench is to maintain leads offensively, the starters can always come back and take care of the D once games gets closer, with the leads I expect the starters to obtain, the bench role is just to go out there and keep on gunning lol

I'm happy for Nick. I hope he does well up there. He's going to fit in pretty nicely as a versatile wing who can knock down shots. That offense just continues to be a juggler knot.

They should play a lineup of Curry - Klay- Swaggy- Casspi - KD against most of the Leastern and only bomb from 30 feet for the fun of it

eh, i view all of their mid-tier players as too valuable to attach to a high pick in a trade. that was my point. there wasn't a great configuration of assets. they would have needed a third team, imo. but you're right; they didn't really pursue it. i think ainge has been overvaluing his picks. he's now made two of them, and i doubt either end up as good as guys he decided not to trade them for (butler, george).

see, i think people have gone a bit overboard on trade value: these guys are superstars. they shouldn't be available for that price. george shouldn't have been available for randle and two late picks. if someone told you in december that you could have had george for ingram, i think you would have done it.

you think they want randle and clarkson? i think they don't.

I don't agree about Barnes, as much as I dislike him. But GSW is a team that does wonders disguising weaknesses, for sure.

Aldridge is a me guy. Except he's a me guy that doesn't dominate. He left Portland because everyone loved Lillard. Btw there was some smoke with him on the block

Personally I think GSW should have signed one of Casspi or Nick and then try and shore up their center position.
