    Two things:

    1) Magic/Rob say the cap space for the summer of 2018 is "sacrosanct," so I highly doubt they'd take on a guy set to make $27 million in 2019, even if they can unload Deng in the process.

    2) All other things being equal, I'd much rather get Paul George than Melo.

    There's not much we can do for them. They have only two expirings: Spencer Hawes and Greg Monroe. Monroe just about fits into our cap space, we may need to send back Kuzma or Thomas Bryant or something to make sure it's there.

    Spencer Hawes is expiring at 6 million so we could get him. I'd take him and a 2nd round pick or two, but I'd send back Kuzma then. We just cut Black because we don't need any more bigs.

    It will, but the light is intensely bright on the other side and I still think we're a better basketball team than we were last year. The problem is the arms race in the West which we won't catch up on until next summer. I still think we win more games, but 30 is starting to sound optimistic again given Minnesota's and Denver's rise. Then again, we only had 3 wins against those two teams collectively so who knows?

    I rather do it for $, I offered KRL the 35-40 win range bet but he wants odds...how bout under under 35 wins I win $150, over 35 wins I'll play you $200, over 40 wins I'll give you $300.

    No I'm good. I don't gamble with money. I'd rather bet on one of us not posting. If you're not confident in the Lakers being last, then that's okay. I think it's a fair bet. A couple bad injuries and the Lakers are screwed in the West.

    ok a month if under 35 wins, this team wont need injuries to lose. I dont think they're bad I just dont think they're good enough to win alot of gms.

    how about carter?

    would not mind him on the team at all. guy can still play off the bench and would be a great mentor for the kids

    if he's not looking to team up with GS or CLE to win a ring, i hope the FO considers him

    Under 35? That's very likely. I said 30 games before the moves with Minnesota and Houston and Denver. I think now 27-28 wins is where the line ought to be set. If they win 34 games, they will certainly not be the last team in the West. I thought we were betting on them being the last team in the West?
