oh did not know that, so whos the starting QB now and the notable wr?...also being fav to land PG doesn't mean its a guarantee, so again IF mgmt. can't get those max fa next yr, we're still terrible IMO.
I'm sorry to do this, but why did you originally talk like you know what you're talking about... when you don't. Cmon dude, you're better than that. There's nothing wrong with giving an opinion but please let it be known with a "haven't been following lately, so my opinion can be easily wrong" etc. Brian Hoyer. Whose played for Kyle Shanahan before so he knows the system, if you take his numbers from when he played on the Browns and before he got hurt last year on the Bears... his stat line looks pretty good. All I want is Alex Smith type numbers from him, be a good game manager and let others make plays while keeping the D fresh. We signed Pierre Garçon who knows Kyle's system,re-signed Jeremy Kerley whose a good slot WR. Signed Marquise Goodwin whose a great deep threat that's fully concentrated on football now(Olympian track 2 sport athlete previously),Aldrich Robinson whose also a big body deep threat who was with Kyle on the Falcons last year and Trent Taylor whose a 5th round rookie that had insane college numbers and is in the mold of a Wes Welker. Solid TEs,solid line and one of the best backfields in the NFL with the addition of Kyle Juszczyk.
One thing about me, I'm always prepared for the worst and hoping for the best. That was a good game and obviously you guys have a SB contending team. We had next to zero depth, with a 3rd system in 3 years. Gabbert was trash, our O-line was one of the worst in run blocking..we were essentially starting two rookies in a new system. The defense was the biggest problem last year. When we played y'all we were missing 4 starters in our front 7 and the backups were atrocious. I can guarantee you our overalL talent and depth is miles better aalong with the systems we've implemented. We almost beat Miami and Seattle towards the end of the year with a FURTER depleted team from when even playing y'all, and those teams were fighting for playoffs! That's why I'm optimistic that anything can happen(2011 49ers could've won the SB and people thought we'd be sorry to the point we'd have a shot at Andrew Luck), and I think 9-7 takes the division this year.
didn't claim I was a "good" fan lol....and yes I'm not into the minor little stuff these guys do but in all honestly all those names would get "meh" shrug type response if you were to ask general fans what one would think of said team...this team is like the nba comp to the Nuggets, a few notable name but not actual "stars"
Even so, the team is in a different place and in a different mind-set. The fact that they're not swinging for the fence in some ways indicates at least self-awareness which is important. I do agree they should call Hayward and touch base with him, but there's really no reason for them to meet with him.
I would agree except there are no really good free agents/realistic targets this offseason I'd offer multi-year deals, so I'm fine with this. Zero reason to do any MozDeng deals because we need to finish a roster. I'd go after Hayward, but we don't currently have the cap space, and there's been zero reports he's interested in us, so it doesn't seem realistic.
this is why I praise Morey, sure we can point out his mistakes too but "not having cap space" never stopped him from targeting players like Bosh, Cp3, etc. IF magic/rob wanted Hayward enough they could make the move necessary to free up cap but obviously 2018 plan is to precious to divert from. How do we know Hayward has no interest if we dont ask?
I think if the Lakers have interest in Hayward, they have probably gauged his interest in us through his agent or our players. Seems to me there isn't mutual interest or we'd have heard about it. And yeah, Morey is a really good GM, but at the same time, as little as he had to give up, he still has CP2 on a 1 year rental. If he doesn't like it there he can walk, their future isn't sewn up or solidified because he made that move.
Didn't love Magic's comments in his interview a few minutes ago about the draft process for Ball... Wasn't happy with the first meeting, that's why they had the second, was saying to himself "OH NOOOOOO" because that was the guy he wanted and the workout was bad. We don't need total transparency, some stuff can be kept private.
I think not even trying to get a meeting is we have other things in mind and NOT cause we think were too good for BG or Heyward. All in on the magic train, stay patient.
My understanding was that Lonzo was pretty under the weather during his first workout & that's why he was getting fatigued. I've been hearing that he actually earned bonus points with the Team because he Manned up & powered through it anyway instead of just rescheduling..
There is no filter that is applied between what Magic thinks and what he says. He is a sort of a Trump.
