I picked up this gingerbread stout at costco this weekend. It's a little light-bodied, but i enjoyed it a lot.

Does anyone else get sick drinking red wine? I can drink white wine just fine, but it upsets my stomach really bad when I drink red wine. No idea why

I don't drink wine. Wouldn't mind getting into it, but I don't do it.

Not a fan of wine, maybe I haven't tried a good one yet but yeah, not my alcohol of choice.

Has this happened over a bunch of different red wines? Different wineries and different styles?

Red wines have more tannins in them than white wines. There is often a "red wine headache" that is associated with Red Wines that are impart to the amount of tannins that red wines typically have over whites.

There are some reds that contain a lower tannin count than others.

I guess. I'm not discerning on wine, and rarely drink it, so I would be getting wine at different places over the years. Red has been the only one that causes me any problems.

Had this last night after final exams. It was really good, like the after taste of it. Thanks for the recommendation.

Very very impressive! Worth the $22 price tag? Maybe as a 1 time try only. I tasted big smooth bourbon vanilla+caramel sweetness up front, followed by some slightly smokey oak and then stone-signature bitter hops on the tail end. At 13%+abv, it's smooth and very enjoyable.

My siblings and in-laws and I do a secret santa gift exchange every year and I got lucky and drew my own name, keeping it a secret. I bought myself this for xmas.

UTTERLY HORRID! Holy balls it's bad! It tastes like scented nail-polish remover. On the rocks, the melted ice opens it up quite a bit and a lot more sweetness come through, making it drinkable but not enjoyable. F*** am I disappointed.

I'm sick, so I tried a Brandy Toddy to try to soothe the throat. It worked.

    8 oz tea
    1 tsp honey
    1 oz Brandy
    .75 oz lemon juice

Big disappointment, as the reviews claimed it was rich and chocolately. It wasn't. Rather ordinary and smoky imperial stout.

I really enjoyed this. Imperial brown ales are not too common, especially of the barrel-aged variety. Think of a fuller-bodied Newcastle at 11%abv then smoothed out with some vanilla oakiness from the whiskey barrels.

$14 for a 12oz bottle is a steep price, but this beer is oh so good! I's rich, creamy, smooth, and sweet considering it's close to 14%abv. One bottle will do you in just right.

This is one of the most unique beers I've ever had...not in a good way. But, I didn't necessarily dislike it. It's a doppelweizenbock, which I guess is a double wheat lager if my german is correct. It's 11%abv and smooth and creamy, but not very balanced. it's too sweet and syrupy. It needs more hops. There is an artificial banana flavor to it, like banana laffy taffy.
