A number of us have made clear how vehemently opposed we would be to bringing in 35 year old LBJ in 2018 if he's wanting to come to L.A. to chase more rings. Others couldn't care less about who this guy is personally because of how great a player (albeit old player by then) he is and if it means we win a ring.

What if Westbrook stays healthy, gives it his Kobe like left everything on the floor again this coming season and it's of course still not enough? He's now hypothetically open to recruiting overtures from Magic, Rob, Luke, Kobe and fellow UCLA alumnus Lonzo Ball.

Seems to me, aside from the fact I would be out of my mind thrilled to see RW here over LBJ and could root like no other for that team ..... that Westbrook would be the much better fit and add as much or more of a winning dynamic to the squad than James. Mamba like mentality. Plus be younger and motivated to be home again and have a chance at his first ring, plus give the chance for him to beat KD's super team.

Thoughts and what would be your preference? Is Westbrook pipe?

I don't want Westbrook on this team.

I'd prefer Lebron but both come with baggage.

Westbrook is a ball-dominant player; the type of player we don't want with what we're building here; plus, he'd be older, and more wear and tear on those knees.

Lebron is another issue. While I love his passing ability, his IQ on the floor, he'd be much older, with more baggage, and the odds of him breaking down will only go up the more miles he puts on his body.

Either way, there's no really perfect "Free Agent" out there right now that I see, and most importantly, I think Magic prefers Lebron...

I like Russell a lot. I love his drive...

He's maybe the worst fit for the type of game we're trying to run here...

Added that option. Whoever chooses it feel free to throw the name out. I'm personally motivated for any star other than James that would give us huge bump in our chances and still be a great fit.

LeBron is still argurably the best player in the NBA. At worst #2 behind Durant. I'd love to add him to this roster along with George. You'd have still two of the best three way players both of which are tremendous playmakers as well.

No to James and I don't think he will come aboard here... Westbrook? Great talent...too much iso ball and won't fit Walton's philosophy. By then, Ingram should be even better so there is my option for C.

Maybe, but if he wants to sign with the Lakers I don't think you pass that up if you're Magic.

The entire point of all this is to be major players in free agency. Beggars can't be choosers at this point. Get a couple of max free agents and find a way to make it work.

Is either Davis or Klay up for FA next summer? Have an opt out?

I'd love to get Westbrook. I'd take that gamble in a heartbeat.

Yeah, he's ball dominant now, but I envision playing with Ball to open up his play, and I hope the phenomenon of Ball's passing being infectious wears off on all his teammates including Westbrook.

Thompson would make sense. Best two way player at the 2 spot currently. Father Mychal could be a great recruiting rep for his services. He'd be an insane fit to Ball's passing.

If Westbrook is having difficulty deferring to KD, he isn't deferring to Ball nor his Ball's style of play going to be infectious with Ball; Russell is who he is...for better or worse.

Klay is up for FA, and he along with PG and Westbrook with Ball and Ingram and Zu would be a killer lineup.

    I dissagree.

Ball isn't ball dominant. He doesn't force the action. He just naturally sees the lanes and passes it. If he's the one initiating the offence most of the time, Westbrrok will be catching it in position to score, therefore lessening the times he stands around with the ball in his hand.

That's my concern as well. He'd be hard to pass up if interested in coming though.
