I think this is one of those shock moves just to establish dominance, no one's safe, so better shape up
What? No they don't. I'm not sure there's a better player in this whole draft class. Stats that DLO posted at his age were seen only a few times in NBA history (by the likes of Magic, CP3, Wall, Rose and Kyrie).
Im saying they could have a chance. Also Russell sooner rather later is due for an extension. At the end of the day IMO hes a lil over rated though i get hes still young. Pretty much everyone on espn was praising us today.
Oh yeah. I was actually suprised. Everyone can smell what we're cooking and they know we have a couple good chefs in there now, with a lil Kobe and PG recruiting power.
Trust me.. I think ESPN would absolutely love for the Lakers to be good again and create a California war between us and GSW. They smell it, they want it, and so do we
The FO needs to start showing me some sort of plan that's coming together because right now everything so far just seems so random and leaves me feeling mehh right now. I don't care what FO you are saying we have a "insert year year" plan isn't going to cut it.
This. Right after the season it was all "we're going to be patient with the kids, watch them grow, etc.", then PG/LLLLLebron news broke and it looked like we panicked a little and went away from that to win now. Now the draft, we add 4 rookies and 3 of them look like uninspired picks (I will try to keep an open mind about them but initial reaction sucks). Gotta give us fans something Magic and Rob, honeymoon is over.
Agreed, we've seen this before as well. The 2007 plan, the 2014 Melo plan. Anytime you bank on free agency it's a huge risk. I think Magic has a little bit more respect around the league then Jim Buss had but I'm still uneasy. We must get PG here before we try to make any FA pitch.
People are overreacting IMO. The Russell trade was to get rid of a toxic contract and also moving on from a player who clearly didn't fit their plans anymore and had become something of a problem in the locker room. Can't fault them for that. Just goes to show how much the kid's value had sunk. They did the best they could and at least rid themselves of Mozgov and got a quality player in Lopez and an expiring in return.
No guys. I told you the other day, this is the same movie we have seen over and over again. I believe it was @PGinLA who said it was like watching Titanic over and over and hoping each time the ship wouldn't sink. We have done this so many times. Lakers make questionable moves. We scratch out heads. Then eventually someone pulls out a jug of purple and gold kool aid, passes it around, and we all slowly but surely convince ourselves that the questionable moves make sense and everything is going to be okay. No. I'm not doing that this time. Outside of Ball, our draft was pretty meh but I'm hopeful Hart is the steal we usually get. Other than that, we just got even younger and a guy who lead one of two teams with a worse record than ours last year is probably our best player. As constructed we may win like one or two more games next year. 4 to 5 max. And somehow, unlike every other time we've tried this, THIS time will be different and Lebron and Westbrook and several other all stars are going to swoop in next summer and save us because - Magic. The new plan is the same as the old plan. It's failed miserably over and over again. I'm not getting my hopes up this time. Again, bring me Paul George and I'll back off and be patient. Until then, I don't have any more benefit of the doubt to give.
