Yeah it did. 3 pt shooting got them to the Finals. 3pt shooting won the one game. 3pt shooting kept them close in the final game.

And if you didn't notice, 3pt shooting also happens to be the Warriors strength.

JR was shooting lights out and the new Lue sat him and then Lebron went stat padding and he never got it back.

Unless you have Shaq, I'll take a high percent 3 point shooter over a high percent 2 point shooter.

    Basic math.

As Steve Kerr said 2 years ago, "our shots are worth more than yours."

There is no chance anyone can match offensively, they have 2 of the most prolific 3pt shooting tandem in history, then theirs kd. As many 3s as clev hit in gm 4 they still almost lost, their is no way you out play few offensively in the long ball, you have to be able to get them off the 3pt line.

Yeah, the alternative to the 3pt shot is a phenom like MJ, Shaq, Kobe. We don't have a phenom, so we better find some shooters, and build a strong defense.

You realize you're now arguing against your own point and for mine.

Nope....You're argument is you need 3pt shooters to match gsw, mine is there is no such way to do that, the only way you beat them is being able to defend n making them uncomfortable. What's the likely chance any team can match klay/Steph from 3s? It's not like that's all they do either offensively

That's the big "x" for Jackson ... he can basically become your lockdown defender and take on the opponents best offensive player.

He makes the lineup more versatile.

all the prospects, save maybe fultz, have lots of holes. ball included.

prefer to do this with vets. that's why i wanted marvin williams last year and patrick patterson this year.

yeah, i don't like the comparisons between jackson and clunkier guys like winslow. he's more like a stronger, bigger, smarter corey brewer as his floor.

and you do remember the scouting report on iggy when he came out...

non-shooter/scorer, unsure of proper position. i'd argue jackson looked more polished offensively than iggy did at the same age.

    Fultz definitely has flags.
I do too. That's why I want to sign Iguodala instead of drafting Jackson.
In the same way that you don't like Kidd comparisons, I don't like the Iguodala comparisons. The Iguodala that they're comparing Jackson to scored 20 points per game with 6 assists in the NBA. I'm not positive I see that in Jackson.

I'm curious to see what type of workout this time? Maybe a 5 on 5 setting to see how runs pick n roll, and his mid range

I don't want to insult you, but you would benefit from reading more carefully before arguing. My argument is not "you need 3pt shooters to match GSW." It is that in today's NBA you need 3pt shooters to succeed unless you have a phenom like Shaq, MJ, or Kobe.

Your response above argued for the superiority of GSWs 3pt shooting. That proves my point. The two best 3pt shooting teams just happened to make the Finals three years in a row. Your original argument was that 3pt shooters didn't help the Cavs. I proved they did until they ran into an even better 3pt shooting team.

    fewer and smaller.

    wasn't this about shooting?

and if i want a ball moving pg, i'll absorb ricky rubio's salary instead of drafting ball.

not at all in the same way. one's a first ballot hofer. projecting jackson as iguodala is WAY easier than projecting ball as kidd.

    http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/andre-iguodala-1.html

far from 20 and 6...and a perfect example of a guy who looked a lot better in the pros due to better spacing and a premium on size and athleticism.

    http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/josh-jackson-2.html

    just sayin'

separately, lakersfilmroom is really in the tank for ball at this point. he's bringing up jackson's ft shooting while ignoring ball's. very un-lakersfilmroom. if it's a predictor, it's a predictor. only one player's success hinges upon his shooting ability, though...
