Dotson looks pretty coordinated with good brakes and a consistent J off of them. Better than most of these guys so far. Back to clip ....

Ahhh .... Semi looks nice too. Kinda skinny though will take him a couple of years to get strong enough.

Dotson definitely showed probably the best fight of all the kids in these clips so far.

Still my guy Ojeleye almost won the competition and he wasn't as sharp as he could be! ;)

Nick is probably gone. Why do I get the feeling we draft a 2/3 who could shoot?

Probably cause Clarkson has the best odds to not be here out of anyone.

Wouldn't mind that. However, the chances of finding a better option than Clarkson at #28 in the draft is highly unikely.

However, if you can get rid of Clarkson and ONE OF Moz or Deng, I'd ship him off tonight.

Might be what the thinking is . also,Clarkson is making like11.5 mill so if we ship him off we can groom someone and use that money were saving elsewhere.

Agree. There's a guy by the name of Avery Bradley I want to pursue in 2018 anyway...

We can go after both, actually. I think we might have enough room. @therealdeal would know; he's good with numbers.

I pass on Bradley with Ingram on the squad. Unless Ingram is dealt and you want Bradley and George at the 2 and 3.

Assuming we don't shed any of Clarkson, Deng, or Mozgov... We'll still have somewhere around 15-16 million left to spend after Julius (and minimum) cap holds. That includes both our picks this year, Nwaba, Zubac, and Nance Jr. too who will all be on really friendly deals.

If you shed Clarkson it's about 26 million.

If you shed all three it's 55-57 million.

If you waive Deng and keep Mozgov and Clarkson it's 26ish million.

If you waive both Deng and Mozgov and keep Clarkson it's 35-36 million.

If you waive both Deng and Mozgov and shed Clarkson it's 47-48 million.

All estimates +/- 2.5 million. For what it's worth, Julius's cap hold is almost exactly the same as Clarkson's contract so if you replace Clarkson with Julius in any of those estimates, it's roughly the same thing.

edit- all estimates also under the assumption the cap doesn't change.

They talked about Lydon being a possibility on access sports net ... would be a stretch 4. Thoughts?

Also, any chance we trade up somehow?

First of all I apologize because the first time Lydon's name was brought up in our workouts I confused him for Alec Peters and said he wasn't athletic enough. Lydon actually has a strong vertical ability. Peters is almost a non-athlete. I mistook him for Peters, my bad.

    Lydon pros:
    - Solid vertical athlete. Can go get a lob pass, can get put-backs on the O-boards. Can challenge guys around the rim fairly well.
    - Has a silky smooth jumper off the catch even out to NBA range. He shot just under 39% from deep, but he can already hit from 25+ feet out.
    - Smart player, usually makes the right plays on offense and defense. Hit the open man, take the open shot, etc.
    - Shows some promise as a one-two dribble pull up shooter. The form is there.

    Lydon cons:
    - not a threat to switch on the perimeter. In fact he's not very balanced out there. He looks like a fish out of water.
    - he was awful on pull-ups even though he was great off the catch.
    - sort of soft, doughy physique lets him get taken out of games. not very strong around the rim, gets pushed out easily.
    - sort of soft mentally at times, let's ball pressure overwhelm him.
    - not really a dribble drive threat. ball handling is weak, which is also why he gets nervous against ball pressure.

He's a hard player to compare just given what I've seen which admittedly isn't a ton. Nbadraft.net compares him to Mirotic, which I think is generous. I would compare him more to Channing Frye: big guy who can knock down shots, but is inconsistent in every other area. He really, really needs to add muscle to his frame. I think if he got a little stronger, he could mix it up more and would probably be at least a little more coordinated on the perimeter defensively. It doesn't make much sense to me that he has agility offensively, but defensively he's leaning all over the place. Seems like a mentality problem to me.

Hmmm. Seems that we're putting an emphasis on shooting and defense. I'll check this guy out. Thanks for the analysis.

Seems from your post this is a guy with solid tools that needs to get coached up,get in an NBA locker room and gain experience.

Looking at later picks from clark, nance and Zu.. They like athletic or genetic freaks. Any european players, thats the money spot for them.
