It was a practical joke. We all do it to our friends. My problem with Russell is his choice of Nick Young as his friend/mentor

Everything about the situation was an underline on his maturity level, but I don't want to keep talking about it in this thread. We can move that talk to the Russell thread.

In this thread, Dennis Smith Jr. is working out with a bunch of stiffs. Why? If that's on the table, why didn't Ball do that? He would have looked much better probably.

The only thing certain is that 99% of the reports are BS. So much misinformation with different agendas.

What I see is what I believe. Ball is the best prospect out of this draft class.

2 for 5/10 would be really fascinating.

We would get two of these guys: Ball, Jackson, Fox, Tatum, Isaac, Markkanen, Monk, Ntilikina, Smith, Kennard, Mitchell, Z.Collins, J.Collins , Anunoby, Jackson, Anigbogu, Allen, Patton, Giles, Leaf, Adebayo, Patton, and Kuzma.

Or we could trade them both. Whatever. Easier to dump some salaries, easier to add some of those FAs in trade.

You have a lot of hostility toward this 2nd pick.

It's an asset that matter more to other teams than to us. Time for us to start winning now.

Nor am l. I've been consistent and clear Ball gives best CHANCE to play that way both Magic and Luke want. Who you got that will do that better, or do you think they really don't want to play that way?

I'm consistent as well, id trade down for multiple picks with whomever falls in love with a player at 2, whether that results in ball still being a Lakers is inconsequential to me. Call me jaded, after dlo/Ingram (I still think they'll turn out good) but I can't put that kind of onus on these picks anymore

No problem. trodgers is saying the same thing. Actually he moves it toward bringing in PG or another established player. I was just teasing you above for being cynical a lot of the time.

My best case scenario is jj hype goes off the chains and phi is desperate to secure him and we play that gm where we are enamored with him. Thus phi gives us 3 and better of ours or their pick in 18', ball is still picked at 3....everybody wins:Fishwink:

I want to start winning now, but I'm not actually sure it is time right now. Are you watching these Finals? We aren't even on the same planet of the level of basketball that's being played between those teams. I want George too, but he doesn't get us anywhere near the Finals in this 2 team league. I was all for trading the pick before we actually had it (and I still would for Butler to help lure PG), but now I'm sorta on the sit back and let these kids grow train. Who we take at 2, I'm not set on, multiple ways we can go. I don't really want Jackson, but that's more about me not being a fan of guys who chase women out into parking lots in an argument and kick in their car door. Just not the sort of person I like.

Sadly I see it this way as well. I think Russell can still be a leader, but he did damage that ability with that video incident. Reports in the weeks after it kept saying even current young teammates were not happy with him and had lost trust there. I think after all this time he seems to have won a lot of it back, but some guys coming in could still stupidly look at him as a "snitch" or whatever. Also, Eddie House got fatter than I remember.

@trodgers ... What do you like about Ball? I would like to hear your insight on what you like about him and what he can potentially bring to our team if drafted? Thank you :)

Who gives a fudgeeeeee lol. Probably to make Ball sweat a lil more.

I think it's kinda sorta fair to put a boom or bust label in Ball, but I feel that's more of an NFL saying. Feel like 95% of NBA guys are boom or bust lol.
