    We have the Houston 1st round pick which will fall right around the mid 20's; we have our own 2nd round pick, and a highly protected 2nd round pick. If we lose our pick and we are set on not tanking, it should be our goal to add another first round pick to what we currently have...so, if Hill could fetch another mid-to late 1st rounder, I'd take it; additionally, if you could get a prospect thrown in, even better.

    By the way, anybody seen Jabari Brown recently.

    I love what Hill brings, but the presence of not only Ed Davis, but now Tarik Black makes him very much expendable for a 1st round pick. SOMEONE could use his services and I would think they'd be willing to give up a first for them. Especially around the deadline as teams work into playoff position.

    The Knicks, T-Wolves, and Philly aren't going anywhere; the teams that concern me are Orlando and Boston. Boston is selling or sold everything off to make them competitive and Orlando is just awful...we need at least the 4th spot in the lottery. Anything outside of that, and we're really taking a risk losing that pick to Phoenix.

    1. Knicks: 5-35
    2. Wolves: 5-31
    3. Sixers: 7-29
    4. Lakers: 12-26
    5. Magic: 13-27
    6. Jazz: 13-25
    7. C Bags: 12-23
    8. Pistons: 13-24
    9. Hornets: 15-24
    10. Pacers: 15-24

    I don't see anyone else really getting to that spot. We might flip around with the Magic a little bit, but we're pretty much the 4th worst team in the NBA. Especially with Kobe sitting a few games and then coming back and messing with chemistry and then sitting a few more games. We should be more or less locked in to that bottom five spot. Whether that gets us the pick or not is a different story.

    I don't see many teams that could get Hill without us taking back some salary.....

    I found 4 teams that could potentially give us an asset without us taking back something that adds salary for next year.

    Detroit - Tolliver/Joel Anthony/1st
    Charlotte - Stephenson
    OKC - Perkins/1st
    Toronto - Hayes/Stiemsma/1st

    I hope we can dump Lin or Price on somebody.

    OKC just traded their 1st for this year to get Waiters.

    I thought Stephenson just signed a 3 year deal? Is there an opt out?

    I would definitely take that Detroit trade, but I don't think they'd give up their 1st this season for Hill. They've got a lot of big bodies over there as it is and that pick should be a pretty high one this year.

    I might take Toronto's deal, but their 1st isn't going to be very high. Who knows though? That could be our best return for Jordan.

    The Jazz have played 8 less games against the West than we have, so they may actually move "up" to the 4 spot pretty quickly.

    I wasn't looking at Stephenson as taking back salary in a dump. I was looking at him as a viable piece going forward.

    True. I wish the the Lakers would have done that this summer instead of Lin.

    Shelburne said they got a good look at him this summer though and decided they didn't want him. I don't think we'll make that move now, but I'd support it.

    It is, but that just means he can come off the books 2016 if we wanted, or keep him (or restructure) if his production is still there.

    Like I said, I'd support that. I just don't know if the Lakers want him. Shelburne said a couple months ago we had a shot at signing him and the Lakers determined he'd be too much of a headache.

    I'm pretty sure the bigger headache is the one in the W column. Jim and Jeanie need to suck it up and stop looking for "image." Some players just can just flat out ball and we need to take chances no matter who it is. (unless it's like JR Smith or something).

    Well he's had a rough season so if there was ever a buy-low candidate it'd be him right now. He's apparently not a great fit in the Hornets' locker room and his production has been worse than last season instead of better.

    Like I said, I would support it. I was on the Stephenson/Monroe train this last summer. I didn't want to be in the boat we're in now which is a de-facto tank job. If we could push Hill for a 1st rounder somewhere, I'd rather do that. Barring that, I'd trade Hill for Stephenson and maybe a 2nd rounder if we could pull that off. Any way to get us more assets.

    I doubt the FO takes on Stephenson at the potential cost of getting Rondo or Love or Monroe or whoever this summer. I feel like if we want him that badly, we could do the deal in off-season too. I don't see a lot of takers on Stephenson if he's really a problem.

    if the lakers can get hollis-jefferson in the 20s, that's a steal, imo. nba size and athleticism, great motor, can work on the shot.
