Almost nobody specific. I mean call the big names to say hello if you want, but they're not coming. Unless you could magically sell Gordon Hayward on a plan that gets Paul George AND somebody next summer, I don't see the appeal in calling anymore.

Call some high quality defensive veterans or some B level shooters and see if they want a 10 million dollar check for a year. Tony Allen comes to mind.

Meant to add Nick Young in there with Brewer and Tarik which would make it 20 mill combined that's off the books after next year. Let's put cap holds into the mix. I did read wrong, it is at 102 but the tax is set at 121 million.
If Julius is traded and we don't give him the big money, or Clarkson is moved(Shave off 12-13-14 mill or whatever) to me it seems there's no reason to panic or be desperate to move Deng/Moz like our future depended on it.

I will agree it seems though moving Deng/28 would be a solid move to give us more than enough breathing room.

Tony Allen at 10 mill? God no lol. I rather take on another expiring contract and try to pull another first round pick like we did with Calderon.

If we were to move Julius or Jordan, we'd shed another 12ish million off our cap. That'd ott us at around 67 million and give us about 35ish million to spend. It's still only enough for one max deal.

In order to get two max slots open, it's essential we move MozDeng somewhere else.

That's fine too. I'm just reaching the salary floor without spending on multiple years. If there's no takers who are going to dump picks and expirings, then one-year, large deals are the way to go. I'd gladly give Tony Allen 10 million dollars for one year. I'm sure he'll get better offers elsewhere.

If sas needs cap for cp3, would anyone be oppose to take Pau in with sas 18' 1st or this yrs 1st? He makes 16mill but is expiring, so no impact on 18' cap, would be nice to have Pau finish his career in a Laker uni

Well before I knew we had kept our pick the two guys that I wanted were either Ian Clark or Patty Mills. Preferrably Ian Clark. Cranjis, who works with LakerFilmRoom and has done a lot of analysis on Clark this post season as given me all the reason to think signing Clark would be a great idea for this time You can find his twitter thread on Ian Clark here to read on what he has found in researching his shooting and defensive potential - https://wakelet.com/wake/ce66e7b9-e06a-45d2-b567-48d2f1676421

or click on this tweet below to read the thread, responses

I know we already have JC who you could argue does many of the things Clark does, but IMO Clark does them better. With us likely going Fox, Ball, or Jackson in the draft I don't know if we should after Clark or Mills because I'd like to try and save as much money in 2018 to sign PG13 if we're fortunate enough and re-sign Randle if he works out this year.

But those are two guys - Mills and Clark who I really like and fit a need that we have - shooting and Clark is underated defensively. A lot better than JC.

I mean having a Backcourt combo of Ball/Russell and Clark/JC coming off the bench. I like it!

Nope. @abeer3 and I discussed this exact scenario somewhere. I'd love to take Pau and a 1st if they went in that direction. He'd make an excellent model for these kids. I'm not positive he'd be happy back in LA at this stage in his career, but I'd definitely make that move. No question, no hesitation.

i may take him without the first, tbh--1 year of pau at that salary is like, 1000000000 times better than 3 more years of mozdeng. just don't think pau would be happy with it.

They need to get rid of Porker too and what Pau wants is irrelevant, he is for maintaining cap space at this point. I want just want SA to commit to Paul long term lol. We need to keep them aged.

My bad I also meant let's not put cap holds into the mix lol.

So if we trade #2 which would count for 5.5 mill salary, Clark@11.6 and Black @6.6 mill that's a total of 23.7 mill. Jimmy B would cost us 18.7. So we'd essentially be saving 5 million.

Ian Clark is a solid bench addition. He's not a starter, though, and his offensive and defensive numbers don't look good.
