Coach K also said Jahlil Okafor is a stand-up citizen.

according to this mcgee character, you are wrong. i don't know. i'm really just ribbing real, who jumped on me for countering his beverly comparison with a john wall comparison.

fox is crazy fast. great body control, really natural movement, like wall. he's a little smaller, though, which matters a lot.

That should have been a warning sign to the tilt. It's like when you are being set up on a blind date and you ask your boy if she's hot. And the first thing he says is, she's really cool or nice or some s*** like that. You know right away that s*** is gonna be straight butter.

If you watch the games both players have a propensity to want the ball in big moments. I would give the edge to Fox in terms of intensity at the end of games, but I think Ball wants to win just as much. I like watching the two of them go at it. You could tell definitely in the first game how much the two wanted to go at each other. If you watch the game where Ball played Fultz, it really comes out how much he wanted the challenge. He went at Fultz pretty hard.

There's two guards with a strong D'Angelo mentality: Fultz and Smith. Both of them are very talented, but I'm not positive either is willing to do whatever it takes to win.

he didn't say: okafor's as good a citizen as <insert former player here>. also, assessments of character are much more subjective than assessments of speed. and a coach has had MUCH more experience viewing the latter in real-world contexts than the former.

Can't take a dude seriously who dry humps James Worthy because of some top 2 pick in the lottery. Spectrum really needs to replace that guy with Serena or keep jamie at anchor full time.

I just didn't think he was Wall fast... I've seen the guy live and it's astounding. It doesn't really make sense how fast Wall is. I guess my feeling at the time was the same as when you see Ball compared to Kidd. I think both comparisons are the absolute peak of each kid and each kid is unlikely to be that good...

My Beverley comparison is what I expect Fox to look like early in his career just like I think Ball will look like Kendall Marshall at times early in his career.

Coaches are going to vamp their kids. It's what they do. It's one of the reasons Calipari is so beloved by his players.

    1. i honestly have no clue who mcgee is, but i don't see why he would put words in calipari's mouth. maybe he would, but that would eventually catch up with him.
    2. anyone can be replaced by serena.

Fox can't shoot. Any NBA team with decent defense will exploit it and he will be rendered useless. If you need proof, watch the 2010 Finals. Kobe guarding Rondo in Inglewood while Rondo was in Reseda sealed the C Bags fate when it mattered.

    so to recap:

a reporter claims a player's coach says player A is as fast as player B. our responses are:

    1. reporter is full of s***.
    2. coach is full of s***.
    3. i've seen player B, and he's the fastest possible, so player A can't be that fast.

i'll just go with: these players are likely comparable in their speed on the basketball court.

wall couldn't shoot early in his career, either. and honestly, rondo's non-shooting a** would still be an allstar if he wasn't absolutely certifiable.

again, can't stress enough that i'm not claiming fox is heading towards stardom (i don't see any obvious superstars in this draft, which includes our beloved lonzo), just that if we're going to be super liberal in our projections, we can be that way for him, too. if ball is kidd, fox is wall, and fultz is faster brandon roy, and zach collins is kevin mchale or something.

in truth, they're probably more like brent barry, rondo, oj mayo, and jason smith or something like that.

I think Fultz is more like Wall. Ball has Jason Kidd written all over him if he can get the timing down quick his rookie year. Fox is michael cooper with speed and no shot. Waiting 5 years for him to develop a jump shot aint going to work. I wouldnt be surprised if he ends up at 5 to be honest.

I think those are great examples of exceptions to the rule. But make no mistake, they are exceptions

I saw a video of Fultz shooting. Do not want.

His shot will be as broken as Ingram's, he's gonna have Lowry weight issues and he lands and bends his knees, on jump shots, very awkwardly.

    Bust.
