This is good and nice to see that Magic cares enough to take a picture with this guy and show interest even though he likely isn't our guy at #28. Which makes sense because even if we don't draft any of these guys we have all this data and relationships with guys who you never know down the road may become a Laker and by laying this ground work it can pay off and you already know a little bit about what these guys can do or did when they were first being worked out to see how much they have improved.
Even if he didn't know anyone on the Kings. It just makes too much sense not to draft a PG for the Kings. This only cements it.
Ball would need to be Jason Kidd part 2 to be transcendent. In Kidd's first season he took his team to +23 wins from the previous year. Co-ROY and the rest is history. If Ball comes in and leads the Lakers to the playoffs and he is ROY, the Lakers would have their transcendent star that they have been looking for. They add George next year to that, the Lakers start looking to threatening the Warriors in the west if Russell and BI make a huge jump. Lakers have the ingredients right now. HAVE to be patient and not screw up the recipe. Not because you don't want to rush, but because you have to make sure you can have a shot at beating the Warriors in the next 3 years and make sure the C Bags don't extend too far from us. Bottom line is winning titles, not competing for a a title or being title contenders. WINNING titles is all that matters.
Hey Bruce Bowen came out of Fullerton. Good to see we're doing our due diligence no matter what school they played at.
One thing that has been discussed off and on in the media as far as another potential trade idea involving our #2 pick was what if Sacramento (who really needs a PG) offered their #5 and #10 and Colley-Stein would we trade our #2 and maybe have to include JC. I would say yes. There are no rumors of this but just wanted to get people's thoughts....
I fixed it. Medina had two links and deleted one. It's a link to the Luke Walton interview from this morning on the Dan Patrick show.
Some good questions and answers in here, for example, how Luke will handle if Rob and Magic don't pick the guy Luke wants. Will they talk with UCLA about Lavar Ball?
I'm 100% sure that's not true and I'm also 100% sure that TS% and Usage rate are not crazy stats. One just shows a guy's overall efficiency and one shows how often he has the ball. How is that a waste of time?
Advanced Analytics are like politics. You can create any set of BS to prove who's what or what's what. The only analytics that matter are the OG numbers that we have been paying attention to since watching sports. Points, rebs, assists, FG%, etc.
Exactly. You never just rely on one or the other. You use statistics and analytics to help make better, informed decisions about anything whether that's sports or in a Fortune 500 business.
