Fox played great one game late in the tourney and the game they lost he got in early foul trouble causing him to miss the majority of the first half which essentially lost it for Kentucky if I remember correctly right?

That doesnt translate to your evaluation of "literary cant shoot"....thats more in line for Rondo when he was picked....if the "litery cant shoot" is truth than his 39pt outing against ball should reflect that more badly on Balls defense

    1. Do you realize I never said he "literally cant shoot"?
    2. How many 39 point games did he have?
    3. I like Fox. So take your random, misinformed, misguided argument somewhere else.

I think the chances are decent, it's just silly to think one is guaranteed to get to X comparison and the other isn't. They're both really good prospects, they just provide different strengths.

That being said, if we trade the pick I'm okay with that too. We have a lot of options.

Yeah but if we are selecting, I sure as hell would probably rather take the guy that's more likely to become his projected player(so the safer pick) instead of the guy who has a "bigger" ceiling. I feel where you're coming from doe.

Here's the better question... who is legitimately gonna possibly be available by draft day? Any Legit rumblings?

Take two from me on this is why are we hearing from Pops now on this? I thought Lonzo had his own agent? If he does, and the goal is to become a Laker, why take this chance? The agent I wouldn't think would be happy about this. Is Lavar doing what Lavar always seems to do ..... making promises Lonzo now has to keep (thanks Pops) and stepping the hell all over everyone else's toes?

Lonzo is the safer pick tbh. Would you rather have a guy who is consistent with his passing and shot, or a player who found his groove the last month of his season?

"Barely can shoot" my apologies....does it matter how many 39pts he had? Just noting for some one that can barely shoot n still managed to do eitjer means its not a big hinderance to his gm or ball is a really poor defender

But the first one can't defend and the second one really can - and could always penetrate and get to the line?

I see what you're saying Khmrp(What does this stand for btw?), but that's not really fair to say Fox barely came around the last month of the season when he's 19 years old(Won't be 20 till Dec!) ...you could argue that's where he barely found his stride and is gonna continue to take off from there.

The point is he's not a scorer. Malik Monk on his own team is already a better scorer than Fox is. I've already said many times I like Fox and there are circumstances where I'd take him before Ball. However, it's Ball's job to lose. Ball is a better fit. Not to mention Ball is a much better defender than this narrative being pushed. He's not as good as Fox, but Ball isn't an awful defender either. If all you've got to go by is one game where Fox scored a lot, then you're not watching enough film.

I wouldn't say Lonzo can't defend, he certainly has the tools with his size and athleticism to improve. De'Aaron also has some defensive holes as well as per the DraftExpress breakdown.

Both are good at getting into the paint and finishing around the rim.

My honest decision to select Ball is based on fit. We need a ball handler and someone to take care of the ball, Russell can't do it efficiently as we saw last year. We need spacing with perimeter shooting, as we lost Lou and Nick is probably gone, those were our two best outside shooters.

Although I do agree Fox is a better defender than Ball, I just don't think it's enough to merit as someone we take with the number 2 pick. We're not talking about an Avery Bradley or Marcus Smart here. With that being said, Lonzo does so much more offensively, consistently might I add, that fits our system that would readily improve the team around him from the get go.

If we need that perimeter guard defender a la Smart or Beverly, I'm sure we can find that with the Rocket's pick. Ball's intangibles are too good to pass up with the number 2 pick.

I'd really love the length of Ball to cause shorter PGs to struggle and obviously if you see Lonzos dad...he's gonna start hitting the weights and add some very nice and lean mass.IF the SG is taking advantage of Russell then have Ball take him and put DLO on the Pg. I like Ingram as a perimeter defender with his insane length and good to feet to compensate for a lack of elite agility.

Again, this could all change during workouts as I would readily admit I was high on Okafor during that draft and was wrong about that.

But I don't have a doubt that Ball is going to give 110% to be selected by his hometown team, and you know for damn sure Lavar ain't letting Lonzo slip one bit. I like his competitiveness, I like that he WANTS to be a Laker. If he blows it than that's on him. But he has all the motivation in the world to get selected #2.

Believe it or not, if Ball comes...Lavar would literally put pressure on everyone to ball. I like that personally especially if and when Ball handles his own.
