Kobe will shoot 45% by the time the year is over. He increases his efficiency for the rest of the year, and makes up a bunch of ground. Currently 37.9%

Kobe finishes top 10 in assists per game this year in NBA. Kobe is at 5.3, and top 10 is 7.1. I think he can do it.

San Antonio doesn't make the playoffs. Currently 7th seed. 4-6 last 10 games. Oklahoma just getting warmed up. 8th seed is Phoenix and they are 8-2 in last 10 and only 1/2 a game back. From championship to out of the playoffs.

My initial for this topic, not so bold predictions are that, respectfully [IMG] , unfortunately, I think you are wrong on all three of those. [IMG] Sorry. No harm no foul, right? [IMG]

It wouldn't be bold if you agreed with it.

I'm going to also say there will be a game that Kobe starts, and 6 Lakers are in double figures, and he's not one of them. :wasntme:

That's not bold, but silly. He doesn't play enough, unless you mean ROY for Lakers only

Kobe gets both of his eyes plucked out by a freak accident with one of the Laker Girls after he dives out of bounds to save a ball. Clarkson is the first to run over and help Bryant and try to put his eyes back in place, but it is too late, as they have already transformed into black mambas and slithered away. As Kobe writhes in pain and the rest of the team and Vitti go over to comfort him, he starts shaking uncontrollably. JORDAN!!! JORDAN!!! He's screaming. The fans in the nosebleed section can hear him from that far away, he's yelling so loudly. Everyone is assuming he's talking about Michael Jordan and how he will never be able to catch him in # of rings. His teammates are trying to comfort him by telling him that he will always be the better-looking one between him and MJ. But Kobe sits up, and without even being able to see where he is standing, points at Jordan Clarkson and again yells "JORDAN!!!!" Jordan comes to Kobe's side, kneels by him, and with tears in his eyes and a frightened, quivering voice, asks him what he wants. "I give you my blessing," Kobe says to him. Jordan bursts into tears and Kobe tells him to hush, and pulls him by the jersey closer to his face. Kobe gives Jordan a kiss on his sweaty forehead, and immediately falls backwards, unconscious. They decide to cancel the game because of the tragic incident. Later that night, in the locker room, the Lakers players are showering. Everyone is distraught, especially Jordan, who doesn't even shower - he just goes straight home - because he never wants to wash his forehead again. While the team is in the shower, the two black mambas that used to be Kobe's eyes creep in and bite Wayne Ellington and Nick Young simultaneously, both of whom are in deep thought, wondering how they will fill Kobe's role. What a beautiful thought to go out on. They both collapse and die. Kobe is obviously forced into retirement, and Ellington and Young are both forced into death. With no SG's left on the roster, Jordan steps in. He goes 1/25 in his first game as a starter with 25 turnovers, with his 1 field goal make being a full court buzzer beater to win. Jordan goes on to average 40ppg 10apg 10rpg 10spg 10bpg and becomes the first player to average a quintuple-double for a season. He leads the Lakers to go undefeated the rest of the season, including the postseason, and beats the Cavs 4-0 in the finals by hitting a full court buzzer beater in LeBron's face. He wins ROY, but LeBron wins MVP and finals MVP cause he has the most swag. So there.

I decided to see how well Kobe would have to play to achieve those numbers.

At the current FGA and assuming Kobe doesn't miss a single game...in order for him to average 45 FG%, he would need to shoot 50.2 FG% the rest of the way.

In order for Kobe to average 7.1+ apg, he would need to average 8.3 apg for the rest of the season.

Lakers will end up with the 5th worst record in the league and get the 2nd overall pick selecting Karl Towns Jr.

There are people whose body is a brand though - like the Logo? Okay, maybe not. How about Kim K?

True. And yeah, AD's brow is pretty much a brand. Branded bodies that do absolutely nothing towards helping the world, a real brand is an idea that manifests in multiple ways. A body that gets branded is essentially objectifying it, and in Kim K's case, it's sexual objectification. For AD's brow, probably... capital objectification? If that even exists

There's some good stuff written on "using" people and objectification - from a Kantian perspective. Just because it's being used that doesn't make it morally problematic, even if it's being used for profit or sex. I'll send it your way if you're interested!
