Interesting. He was Mitch's right hand man.

I'd like to see Ryan West get that job now.

Is it weird that I've been following the Lakers since 81 and never heard of Glenn Carraro?

Wow there is Magic Johnson, Lakers legend. Kobe Bryant, Lakers legend, Luke, for all intents and purposes a young and gifted coach with the most "right" stuff who may very well become a great coach in this league. And then there's Rob who's our new GM. Freaking love this guy. Tremendous answers to great questions and a great interview by Mike Trudell. Well done Jeanie in trusting your gut with where you finally turned to, post Phil, for help in saving the franchise and hoping to get it back to championship contention again ....when you knew it was time. Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant. And listened to what they told you. Dream Team!

meh, not that i don't like pelinka, but there was very little substance there. mitch-esque in that regard, but with more exuberance woven in.

Mitch never would have put together answers like that. Just not in his nature. What did you want for substance? A, B, C, D, E this is how we get back to the WCF? Makes sense and he said there's too much in play right now to call specific pieces and moves. Not that he would anyway. Have to start with the general but specific, no BS mindset expected from the FO and from each player.

I think Butler WOULD require at least Russell or Ingram unfortunately.

I think the minimum package would be Randle+Clarkson+Top 3 (and Deng for salary).

I'd do that deal. Jimmy is signed up for at least 2 more seasons. That trade + signing a PG or PF in FA would make us a heck of a lot better now and more attractive in the future.

    I think Bulls would want Randle+Russell+Hou 1st (+Deng)

I would only do that IF we keep the Top 2 and can get one of Fultz/Ball.

Then maybe go at Teague and Ibaka?

    Teague/Ball
    Butler/Clarkson
    Ingram/
    Ibaka/Nance
    Zu/Mozgov

    That's not a bad start.

This means they want a lot back for him.

Be patient Rob. Don't give the house away for Butler.

If you need to learn what to do and what NOT to do, you do not have to look far from the Golden St Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

OKC had as good of a 4 year draft between 2007-2011 as any team could have. All they have to show for it is impatience and stupidity. No Harden, No Durant, No Ibaka, No chance at winning titles.

GSW had an exact 4 year drafting barrage of quality. They didnt get rid of Curry or Thompson and continued to add the right vets using their little assets like Ellis, etc. They now are one title in and possibly 2 or 3 more coming.

Those talking about trading Russell, Ingram, are the same people b****ing about trading draft picks the last few years. Whats the difference? Know what the hell you are talking about.

You do not trade 6'5 basketball players who can shoot and post with lighting fast release. You do not trade 6'9 players who at 19 already show they can guard small forwards well and can already run an offense.

Lakers need to ADD not trade. You use the assets you can move and you keep the potential stars. It's not rocket science.
