That's some classic footage. Funny how primitive the game was back then. No athleticism, really no defensive schemes, or offensive plays. Kobe would have dropped 200pts on those guys.

Oh my...the defense and athleticism on display are absurdly bad.

From a basketball evolutionary perspective, this is like watching dinosaurs throw down. They dribble with one arm only, the free throws are all granny style with some truly unorthodox spins, they mainly move like post surgery 39 year old vets do today.

I agree if prime Kobe could go back in time he would be like the Terminator. Hey! I just came up with the new Nike Kobe commercial - Kobe travels back to the dawn of basketball with his time travelling Kobe sneakers, and proceeds to destroy a classic C bag team - either using real footage (Forest Gump style) or recreating a game with actors. Tagline - Kobe basketball evolution beating father time.

Is this slow-motion old timey footage or just how they moved? Good lord, I could hang with these guys, wow. That's defense, they just stand there? And Whitey has the ugliest shot I've ever seen.

They moved like that because there were no real offensive schemes. At least I can not recognize any. In addition they are dribbling with one hand only, which is really strange to watch.

"Whitey" [IMG] Sorry I have not watched this, but benefit of the doubt to you Weez ..... that is someone's name, or nickname, right? Not a racist stereotype? Not from a mod on shiny new PC LB? [IMG] If it were, and me being white, I would still [IMG] .

Lol, his name was actually "Whitey". I used it as a joke with double meaning though because many of these whiteys had hideous shots. :D Hey I'm half white too.

And whoa, how'd you get CL smileys?

    Figured something like that..... [IMG]

If you think you're going to be posting diligently on LB for awhile, open up the "more smileys" box at CL and keep it handy reduced in your dock. Right click on one and "copy image address". Come back to LB and left click on the box to the right of LB's smiley box. With it open right click on the Image URL line and "paste". Then left click on the "Insert" button. I know it was like magic..... I was bummed not to have them here until someone walked me through the steps. [IMG]
