I saw Ghost in the Shell last night.

It's not good. Even if you're into the source material (which I've never read or seen), I'd save my money and wait until it's out on digital or something.

I was trying to remember what "big" movie was coming out today. Thanks for reminding me.

    Forget about everything you know...
    You joined a cult?

Spectacular audio and video...the flick itself wasn't bad. Enjoyed it throughout. Grade: B

Those hand motions? Wax in, wax out! Strange defeats Dormammu by going Ground Hog Day on him. LOL. Oh...and uh, Rachel McAdams is still hot.

Saw Logan today. I'm not going to compare it to any other superhero movie because it's not like any other superhero movie. Really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of the Wolverine and Prof X characters, and a big fan of both Jackman and Stewart. Did not disappoint... at all.

And wow, what a performance by the girl.

Agree. I've seen it twice and would go again.

Probably my favorite thing in the whole movie was the fat kid at the end holding the action figure. That got me more than the more obvious tear jerker moments.

Logan was a great movie, absolutely loved it. The ending got to me with Logan and the girl...

Showed 1984 to some honors students yesterday in honor of 4/4 day. Good times. The 1984 version is pretty powerful even with cheesy 80s music.

Just watched the newest Power Rangers and it was actually pretty good. I did come in expecting something cheesy/corny like the original movie was but it was probably the complete opposite.

Apparently they are aiming for a 5-6 movie long series and I'm perfectly fine with that. PR was a huge part of my childhood and I'm glad I can still enjoy it.

I watched it too. It was after my time (I'm 38) but my younger bro watched it so I'm familiar with it. It's OK. Not bad. Not good. But it was enjoyable enough that I wasn't upset I watched it. The thing that does upset me about it is it is soooo similar to Voltron in a lot of ways, that a Voltron movie may not get made because of over saturation. The Godzilla/King Kong universe, Power Rangers, Pacific Rim, Transformers...how many giant monster or giant robot or giant monster and robot franchises can you have? I have wanted a live action Voltron movie since the first Transformers movie convinced me it was possible to do it and look good.

If the Voltron movie doesn't have the metallic clank when he forms the blazing sword, I don't want it. I've really soured on the Voltron reboot because of the sounds and music.

I like the new version, but the music is killing me. There's nothing wrong with the new music per se, but because we know what it's like to get chills down your spine when Voltron would form and that original epic song started blaring, it comes off as cheap.

Yeah I wished I watched power rangers during opening weekend, it would have been better with the crowds. There were just a handful of of people when I watched it and I was totally the only one geeking out when they played the original theme and when the original Tommy and Kimberly cameoed.

I thought the original theme song part was SUPER forced. It came out of nowhere and felt clumsy. :D

Yeah. I think the fact that you were a fan of the original show, and I viewed it as a Voltron ripoff in my younger days (even though Power Rangers has been around since before Voltron), probably shaded that particular moment. It was the definition of "fan service." So for someone who wasn't a fan and had zero attachment to that song, it was really jammed in there.

I don't know if the movie will be any good, but they nailed the look. Got to give 'em that.

I'm a fan of the Fast n Furious series, but this latest installment was below the last 3 in the series. Not horrible or boring, but just lacking in plot. The fast cars and bombs exploding are there, along with some funny one liners, but I'd rate this a C+.

A thinking viewer's alien flick sort of like Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. I thought it was OK. Always liked Adams and Whitaker as good actors, Renner as well. Understated in its premise and a bit choppy. Grade: C.
